The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has named its Performance Programme Squads for the 2011/12 season which will undertake training blocks in Loughborough, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

17 players have been selected in the England Performance Programme (EPP) squad which will undertake a three-week training programme at Loughborough in November and training camps in South Africa for fast bowlers and India for the other squad members.

A 13-member squad of potential EPP players has also been named which will undertake training at Loughborough and then time in Sri Lanka and India.

"The England Performance Programme provides an excellent opportunity for those players identified as having considerable talent to train together in an England environment throughout the winter and further develop as cricketers," ECB Performance Director David Parsons said.

"The time spent at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough and in India and South Africa allows our national lead coaches to develop bespoke programmes for each member of the squad and work intensively with the players and to continue to assess their readiness to graduate to the full England side when the opportunity arises.

"This is an exciting group of young cricketers with all but three players selected for the England Performance Programme this winter having represented England Lions or England this year. We recognise the need to develop a pool of players who are all capable of playing key roles in international cricket when the need arises and this programme allows us to continue working with those identified as having the ability to perform at the highest level.

"It has been very pleasing to see the likes of Steven Finn, Craig Kieswetter and Jade Dernbach, who have all spent time on the programme in recent years, go on to play important roles for England this year."

England Performance Programme Squad: Jonathan Bairstow, Scott Borthwick, Danny Briggs, Nathan Buck, Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, James Harris, Simon Kerrigan, Tom Maynard, Stuart Meaker, Boyd Rankin, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ajmal Shahzad, James Taylor, James Vince, Chris Woakes

Potential Performance Programme players: Moeen Ali, Moin Ashraf, Karl Brown, Varun Chopra, Matthew Coles, Matthew Dunn, Tymel Mills, Jigar Naik, Stephen Parry, Toby Roland-Jones, Alex Wakely, Luke Wells, Adam Wheater
