England Lions 96 (Dernbach 3-21) by 7 wickets
One-day warm-up game, Abu Dhabi

Jonathan Trott and Alastair Cook scored half-centuries as England warmed up for their One-Day International series with Pakistan by beating the England Lions by seven wickets in Abu Dhabi.

After the Lions folded to be bowled out for just 96, a contrived target of 230 was reached by the senior side with three wickets down in the 46th over.

Trott was unbeaten on 75 in 92 balls as he guided England to victory after Cook had made 68 in 91 deliveries, putting on an opening partnership worth 79 with Kevin Pietersen (41).

Ravi Bopara made 36 in 46 balls and after he was dismissed by Scott Borthwick, Eoin Morgan was unbeaten on four to bring the match on close.

Earlier, the Lions resisted for just 28.3 overs as Jade Dernbach (3-21) and Steven Finn (3-28) ripped through the top order and Graeme Swann took two for 13.

Tim Bresnan marked his return from injury with the wicket of Lions captain James Taylor (30) while Samit Patel dismissed Danny Briggs for eight.

Chris Woakes' unbeaten 32 and Jack Brooks' ten were the only other scores in double figures.
