Escape The Snow, Be Bowled Over At Club La Santa

Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) have thrown away their snow boots and joined forces with Club La Santa in Lanzarote to offer young cricketers the chance to play like a pro at the resorts ‘Fun Cricket Camp’ in February.

Former England captain and LCCC Director of cricket Mark Watkinson and former Lancashire hero Warren Hegg will be running the camp offering tips on how to improve their skills while reminiscing on their days playing for England.

Having previously coached the likes of Andrew ‘Freddy’ Flintoff, James Anderson and Sajid Mahmood, Mark Watkinson is experienced in getting the best out of people. Along with Warren Hegg who spent much of his career behind the stumps receiving a cricketing record of 11 catches in one game.

Head of Club La Santa Claire Dyson said: “It’s fantastic that Mark and Warren have agreed to head up this training camp for us. Cricket is becoming more and more popular amongst young people and giving them the chance to be coached by two of England’s finest is something that doesn’t happen everyday.”

The camp, which is due to take place on 17th to 24th February, caters for all young cricketers between the age of 8 and 14 who want a week of fun in the sunshine while enjoying a game of cricket.

While staying at Club La Santa there are a number of other activities to take part in whether you are involved in the camp or are parents who have come along for the ride. A choice of 25 different sports facilities are on offer including tennis, squash, badminton, golf, swimming, aerobics, pilates, yoga or simply relax in the spa. The camp costs €75 per child and is available to guests who are staying at Club La Santa during the event. Club La Santa is currently offering guests a 10% discount on the apartments, which sleep two adults and two children with prices starting from £771.
