Essex Cricket is pleased to announce a new 2-year partnership with the University of Essex.
The University of Essex are to become sponsors of the Coaching in the Community Programme in the Metropolitan & Essex District Area and also the indoor Youth Competition.
Tracey Davies, Essex Cricket Development Manager added, "This support from the University of Essex will allow us to send our qualified coaches into schools throughout Essex and also the Metropolitan District. This programme will enable children of all experiences to further improve on their cricketing skills. In addition to the fitness opportunities this will offer so many youngsters it can also act as a breading ground for the cricketing stars of tomorrow. We are seeing a surge in people taking up the game across the county following the success of England winning the Ashes and closer to home the recent success of Essex".
Deputy Director Widening Participation and Community Engagement: "We are delighted to be able to support the fantastic work that Essex County Cricket Club is doing in schools. We firmly believe that these sorts of sporting activities help to raise young people's confidence and aspirations for the future which ties in completely with our own aims and objectives"
