Fairly Odd Places CC were bowled out for 91 in reply to Iceland's 117 all out

The Fellowship of Fairly Odd Places C.C. is, in its stride, always on the look-out for out of the ordinary cricket venues, and ideally in combination with an out of the ordinary opponent.

They played the Vatican XI, they also played on an uninhabited island, in 2006 simultaneously in two countries and also re-introduced Manor House cricket in the Netherlands.

This year in July they again tried to beat a national side. Hello Iceland!

The most northerly cricket pitch in the world and playing there runs a fair chance a unique entry goes in the score book ("volcano stopped play").

Iceland XI turned out to consist of the odd eight gentlemen of Indian descent, two or three UK expats and a single Icelander.

In spite of a rather dodgy wicket FFOP C.C. fielded flawlessly, including a hat-trick (all clean bowled) by Robert "el gordo" Kottman.

The first one in Iceland's cricket history and the first one so far north on the globe.

Scores: Iceland XI 117 all out, FFOP C.C. 91 all out in a 35-over match.
