The clash of the Australian and South African international stars tops the bill as Derbyshire Falcons face Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the Friends Provident t20 on Thursday, 7pm start.
Derbyshire’s Charl Langeveldt and Nottinghamshire’s Dirk Nannes were tied at the top of the wicket-takers table in the recent ICC World Twenty20 competition.
Falcons’ dasher Loots Bosman and Outlaws’ powerhouse David Hussey, meanwhile, are widely regarded as two of the most destructive batsmen on the planet.
385 runs, 36 fours and 20 sixes were struck in the recent encounter between the sides at Trent Bridge as Nottinghamshire won by five wickets despite Wes Durston’s explosive 111 off 59 balls.
For people considering taking youngsters to the game, Freddie the Falcon will be in attendance and the Derbyshire team will be available to sign autographs after the match in-front of the Lund Pavilion. Games and additional entertainment will also be available for the club’s young supporters on the night of the game.
The North Group of the tournament will see John Morris’s side play a total of 16 matches with the top four making it through to the quarter-finals; a top two finish would ensure a home draw. Finals Day will take place at the Rose Bowl on Saturday 14th August.
Following the Nottinghamshire match on Thursday, the Falcons are in home action again against Worcestershire Royals, 7.10pm start, on the following Monday, 21st June. The match will be televised live by SKY Sports meaning for big screen in attendance, action replays and the drama of third umpire’s decisions.
