Moises Henriques has been ruled out of the first two One-Day Internationals against West Indies and has been replaced in the squad by James Faulkner.

National Selector John Inverarity said: "Tasmanian bowling all-rounder, James Faulkner has replaced Moises Henriques in the squad for the first two Commonwealth Bank Series matches against West Indies to be played in Perth.

"“James will play for the Prime Minister’s XI on 29 January in Canberra and will join the Australian squad in Perth on 30 January."

Henriques was twice hit on the hand by Nathan Coulter-Nile while playing for New South Wales in their recent Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia. The blows aggravated an existing finger problem, causing it to become swollen and infected, with Henriques expected to be out of action for at least a week.

Faulkner, a 22-year-old from Launceston, Tasmania, has played once for Australia before, in a Twenty20 International against India in February last year. He didn’t bat and bowled two wicketless overs at a cost of 18 runs.

Australia ODI squad: Michael Clarke (captain), George Bailey, Ben Cutting, Xavier Doherty, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Phillip Hughes, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner.

West Indies finally recorded a win on their limited-overs tour of Australia at the seventh attempt by beating a virtually second-string home side in the one-off T20 International at the Gabba. Johnson Charles, fresh from his maiden international century in the fifth ODI, laid the platform for their impressive total of 191 for six with a 35-ball 57. Australia's inexperienced middle-order then crumbled when faced with the daunting required run rate and they finished short on 164 for eight.
Australia have added 23-year-old Queensland batsman Joe Burns to their Twenty20 International squad of their one-off game against world champions the West Indies in Brisbane on Wednesday (13th February). Burns has been added as cover for Adam Voges, who suffered a hamstring injury after hitting his maiden century during Sunday's fifth and final One-Day International.
There were maiden international centuries from both Adam Voges and Johnson Charles in the fifth and final One-Day International between Australia and the West Indies, but it was Voges who emerged on the winning side as Australia secured the series whitewash.
Australia have been forced into making further changes to their One-Day International squad ahead of Sunday's fifth and final match against the West Indies in Melbourne. Captain Michael Clarke is set to miss the game as a precautionary measure with a stiff right hamstring and Shaun Marsh replaces him in the squad.
Kieron Pollard scored an outstanding century - his second against Australia - but even that wasn't enough to prevent Australia sealing a five-wicket victory in the fourth match in Sydney. Shane Watson was in good form again, scoring a half-century, as Australia moved into a 4-0 series lead with one match to play, further extending their record of not having lost an ODI at home to the West Indies since 1997.
Australia have called up uncapped fast bowlers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Josh Hazlewood as well as batsman Ben Rohrer for their Twenty20 International against the West Indies in Brisbane on 13th February.
