Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain has been ruled out of the ICC World Twenty20 after dislocating a finger against Hong Kong.

He has been replaced by all-rounder Ziaur Rahman in Bangladesh's squad for the remainder of the tournament.

Rubel suffered the injury during Bangladesh's unexpected defeat to Hong Kong in the final Group A game.

Despite the defeat, Bangladesh qualified for the Super 10s, where they will play Australia, India, Pakistan and the West Indies in Group 2.

28-year-old Rahman has played 11 Twenty20 Internationals, scoring 108 runs and taking two wickets. He made his debut against Ireland in 2012 and last played against New Zealand in 2013.

The Event Technical Committee has approved the change to Bangladesh's squad.

Bangladesh won through to the Super 10s stage courtesy of comfortable wins over Afghanistan and Nepal, Rubel bowling just one over as Bangladesh found more success with their slow bowlers.
