Pakistan captain Younus Khan will miss his side's opening ICC Champions Trophy match against the West Indies tomorrow (Wednesday) but should be fit for Saturday's clash with India.

Coach Intikhab Alam revealed that although Younus fractured a finger fielding in Pakistan's warm-up match against the Chevrolet Warriors, he will do everything in his power to play in the match against India.

"Younis' injury is not life threatening," he told a press conference. "It's not that serious at all and he will probably play against India. He is strong and tough and can play with painkillers. He won't want to miss the match."

Shahid Afridi will act as captain in Younus' absence in a match that Pakistan are expected to win against an under-strength West Indian side.
