Former Yorkshire and Gloucestershire all-rounder Ian Fisher scored a spectacular century to keep New Farnley in touch with Premier Division leaders Wrenthorpe. By David Markham.

Fisher hit five sixes in his 125 to help New Farnley to reach what proved to be a winning 261-8 at Altofts, who were bowled out for 102. David McCallum took 6-33 and David Cummings 3-14 for New Farnley.

This emphatic 159-run win leaves New Farnley ten points adrift of leaders Wrenthorpe, who beat Wakefield Thornes by five wickets.

Thornes scored 180 with Richard Foster (36) and Matthew Varley (35) their leading scorers, but that didn't present any problems to the defending champions for whom Eric Austin (56) and Luke Patel (43) put on 72 before Greig Batty completed the job with an unbeaten 38 after earlier taking 3-40.

Second Methley beat bottom club Ossett after bowling them out for a mere 83. Spinner Simon Purdy took 5-11 and John Rickers 3-8 for Methley.

The battle of the relegation threatened clubs produced a high scoring game that ended in victory for Birstall. Birstall scored a formidable 277-7, which included 104 from opener Connor Williams before St Michael's ended 41 runs short at 236-9.

Tom Marsden with 59 not out and Robert Larner 48 not out shared an unbroken 126-run partnership as Northowram Fields eased their relegation worries with a nine wicket win at Mirfield Parish Cavaliers. Earlier, Ben Burkill took 5-72, Zafar Khan 3-31 and Chris Thompson 2-20 as the Cavaliers collapsed from 104-4 to 125 all out.

Hunslet Nelson gained a six wicket win against Townville after bowling out their opponents for 108. Sohail Raz took 4-31, Robert Barker 3-36 and Will Stiff 2-37. Matthew Smith then scored led Hunslet to victory with 62 not out.
