The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday revealed the fixtures of the Women's World T20 Qualifier to be played in next month in Japan.

The tournament will kick-off on 28th April with hosts Japan taking on Samoa and will feature Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu as well.

Each team will play each other twice in a double round-robin format with the topper of the table progressing to the main tournament to be held in end of 2017 or start of 2018.

Chris Thurgate, who is a member in Japan Cricket Association lauded the Sano City Council for taking efforts to organise the tournament and is confident of a successful outcome.

“The turf wicket is starting to play really well actually. The Sano City Council have put a lot of effort, time and money into it and it’s starting to show rewards for them and for us as well.” Thurgate said.

“Hopefully everyone who comes over to Sano and to Japan enjoys their time because it’s going to be a beautiful time here.” Thurgate concluded.
