Former England Coach Leads New Cricket Education Series

Former England Assistant Coach and Cricket Ireland Performance Director Mark Garaway has today announced he is heading up a new online cricket coach development programme at pitchvision.com.

The program, titled “PitchVision Coach Education: Coaching to Win” is an ongoing resource for cricket coaches. It features a database of articles and videos, a newsletter, in-depth online courses and a downloadable coaching show; all updated every week so coaches can stay in touch with the latest developments. There is a discussion forum for coaches from elite to grass-roots level to share ideas across the world.

The content has been designed and created by Mark Garaway. A former first-class player, his coaching experience includes club, county and international level putting him in the ideal position to pass on high-level best practices to grass-roots and elite coaches alike. His CV includes coaching at Hampshire CCC, Somerset CCC, England (as Assistant Coach) and Cricket Ireland.

Garaway is still highly involved formal coach education through the ECB Coaches Association. He has designed “Coaching to Win” to be an ongoing complement to the well-established and respected coach education programmes of world governing bodies like the Cricket Australia, ECB, BCCI and Cricket South Africa.

Director of Coaching for PitchVision Academy David Hinchliffe said, “Mark Garaway is a passionate thinker on the game of cricket. His ideas are inspiring and his methods have been proven to work at every level of the game. Coaching to Win is an opportunity for coaches to not only learn from the best, but also to join a community of like-minded people. That’s especially important for coaches who often work with no exposure to other coaches’ methods.”

Mark Garaway added, “One of the key parts of coaching is continual development. Coaching to Win is an informal way to continue to learn beyond your formal learning and evaluation. I’m delighted to  help improve standards through PitchVision Academy and the vast community on the site.”
