New South Wales batsman Peter Forrest has replaced Michael Hussey in Australia's limited overs squad for the tour of England and Ireland.

Hussey will remain in Australia to be with his family after his fourth child was born three months prematurely.

Forrest missed out on initial selection but was named on the standby list after making an excellent start to his One-Day International career.

In his first 11 matches, he scored 353 runs at 32.09 with a top score of 104 against Sri Lanka in just his fourth match.

"Due to the premature birth of Mike Hussey's fourth child, CA supports Mike's request to remove himself from this tour for family reasons," Pat Howard, Cricket Australia (CA) Executive General Manager of Team Performance, said.

Hussey added: "Due to our baby being born three months erly, it is important for the family for me to be here at this time.

"It is always difficult to miss any tour for Australia and I thank CA for their understanding of our family's situation."

Australia play a one-off match against Ireland on 23rd June ahead of five ODIs against England between 29th June and 10th July, and are scheduled to arrive in England on Friday (15th June).
