Sledge - NZL look very good because they are bowling against a very weak batting line-up in ZIM and batting against a very inexperienced ZIM attack. Can't really say they will give SA a challenge based on these performances alone. With no Taylor and no Ryder, their batting looks very bare and they have no X-factor bowler like Malinga or an unknown quantity like Senanayake to cause SA problems like the few problems SL caused. An ENG lead of anything under 50 and PAK are favourites, anything above and ENG in front. Mind you, ENG had a 70 run lead in Abu Dhabi and lost by 72 runs. Unpredictable cricket makes for the best cricket. ENG have to battle hard and get a win here to get some sort of momentum going because the ODIs and T20s are only going to be tougher for ENG to win with guys like Razzaq, Afridi and U. sam - it's because they are a very good limited overs side. People need to start distinguishing between different formats, guys like Ashwin, Jadeja, Rahul Sharma - they are all made for T20 and ODI bowling. Kohli, Raina and Dhoni are all ODI/T20 batsmen. Every single one of the Indians who is in both LO and Test line-ups is a better LO player. Quite a crazy day of cricket that! I have a feeling Pakistan will still win this because they will be high on confidence after winning the first two tests. They atted deep in these matches. Nowadays there tail isnt reliable.

It is a repeat of the first match just the teams have changed. England should win this easily from here. It wont be a draw for sure.

53-7 for lunch on day 1. Amazing indeed. who would have thought that. I have always believed Pakistan are better off batting second. They achieved msot of their success batting second under Misbah. It is a good wake up call though - there is no room for complacency against the top ranked side. Let's see if England batsmen can translate this confidence when their turn comes. 42-6 !!   Amazing bowling by Anderson and Broad with the latter really on fire !  8-3-16-4 are his figures - stunning , the man has had a brilliant series even though England are 2-0 down.    If he gets a fifth before lunch he'll be the first Englishman to do it since the great Sydney Barnes in 1930  !!    Pakistan in all sorts of trouble - as they say , you can't win a test match on day 1 , but you can definitely lose one !
