Me too. To be honest, I credit the selectors for not even discussing him because it could be tempting surely for them to pick this prospect.

Yes I think he shouldn't be brought into international cricket till at least two if not three years,at best they can keep him in the wings for up to 6 years.
By that time he should have become good enough to be a partener for Monty Panasar and they could alternate or use them both in the sub-continent.

Met Saqlain a few months back. He was not too  optimistic about England spin bowling future (maybe more so because he now himself is a candidate). but he said only Monty is a genuine quality spinner in the whole county circuit. Talking of Adil Rashid he said, that the lad needs a good 4-5 years to horn his skills before being exposed at the international level. Just watched the guy bowl today. He bowls with a very high arm but does look comfortable in his action which is massively important for a young spinner. He pulled out a googly too that beat Cook with a play and miss. He also spun past the bat a few times against Ravi Bopara.
 
He looks a good prospect but I want to see much more bowling at county level first.

SmileGood victory for the lions in the one day game, great start. Adil Rashid once again performed this time taking the main two wickets in middle order, figures of  9-1-49-2 and also contributing with the bat once again with 24 not out of 12 balls, and finished of the game. He looks a very versatile player if required to bat time he can do that as he proved in the longer version of the game and if required quick runs the lads got a strike rate of over 150 impressive!!!!. He has Definatly enhanced his reputation on this tour with both bat and ball. 
 
Micheal Carberry also did well got his 2nd hundred of the tour.

Well I wouldn't read too much into Monty's performance since Indians have been generally good players of spin. And one shouldn't forget that the team England Lions played against was quite a strong team. Jaffer has a knack of getting big scores every now and then. Rahane has also caught selections attention in first season itself. Yousuf, Patel, and Pujara have all been in form with Pujara averaging above 50 and should appear in the national squad once the Indian middle order retires. That's exactly what I was thinking Clobs, Monty hasn't done much so far. Given his experience over Rashid you would think he would be leading the way.

But then you can't read too much into it just yet.

 I've not seen the lad at all , but reports are extremelygood.  He mustn't be rushed and I'm in complete agreement withHarry - leave him for a good few years before exposing him to theworld's best batsmen.

Adil is a great prospect, his short career record proves it. Hes only 19 and should be left to develop at his own pace.Leg spin is an exciting art which is not easy to bowl,if it was easy dont you think they'd be loads of leggys around the world? He needs to mature as a cricketer and needs to play atleast another 1 or 2 years of first class cricket to learn his trade and then England should pick him.

I've heard good things about this guy so far - and he's only 19.

He's already taken 75 first class wickets in only 25 matches and can also perform with the willow.

He averages just under 40 and 108 is his top score.

One to watch me thinks!
