So England progress , but they look well short of the main contenders.A professional job against Kenya , but little spark - they won't scarethe big boys methinks.
     Ed Joyce did a sound job though , whichprobably means Strauss will be a drinks carrier for the duration -who'd have predicted that 6 months ago!

I dont like Martin in ODI's, to wayward and generally bowls back of a length so is easier to hit. Yeah Canada did play well against NZ....glad that Davison got in on the runs. Canada did very well with the bat for their standards! I was surprised they got that much. A wonderful display of clean hitting by Davison - it reminded me of his onslaught against the windies 4 years ago.
 
NZ has a real decent side and these 3 guys, Styris, Oram and Vettori are a massive boost to them as they are accomplished all-rounders. As Sledger pointed out, their pace attack was nothing with Bond and he needs to fire in the super8's for them to reach the semis.
 
I heard that R Taylor is injured and might be out for a while. That is a big loss - a fine young player he is!

It really was a great match Canada were doing really good with the chase going good but when davison got out and the spinners came in it all changed. Canada from all the associates , apart from Ireland I guess showed the most promise and got 200+ from both test nations and batted the 50 but most players arent going to be their next world cup.

I agree there... For the 1st half of the match, it seemed as if Canada were seriously chasing down that total, but once Vettori and Patel put on the brakes, Canada just went downhill.
Nonetheless, a good match to watch, and not as one-sided as some of the other contests we've seen in this tournament so far.

 Terrific entertainment provided by Canada yesterday! Davison finally refreshed our memories of that stunning ton of the lastworld cup with a swashbuckling half century - all the New Zealnadbowlers were carted and with fine cricket shots too!
    With every game Canada have improved and scoring 249yesterday was great for their supporters and neutrals alike.  Theystill lack penetration in their bowling , but worryingly , so do NZwhen Bond doesn't play.
     Good decision to rest Bond , but it didhighlight how he carries the attack for them.  To progress intothe semis Bond must stay fit.

 Fleming looked in fine touch mate , in fact , Vincent apart (twoducks!!) , the whole side seems to be playing well.  I fancy NZ tobeat a couple of the top sides , especially if Bond stays fit. The rain seems to have freshened up the pitches and assisting thequicker bowlers. That's good news for SA , Aus , NZ , SL and possiblyEngland !
     If the pitch for the game against Kenya is quickish , I expect an easy win for the English.

 A pretty shabby weekend if you happened to be English. Friday'smatch was disappointing , losing the toss was unfortunate , but NZ area much better side in this format of the game. 
    I agree with posts concerning Vaughan's dismissaltoo - just bloody awful. How can a supposedly class act average 20-odd? He seems confused on what sort of role he has in the line-up - is hea dasher or is he a stayer? He falls between the two stools andactually looks neither. The rashness of his shots make me wince and Ihave serious concerns about his suitability for one day cricket.
     The Flintoff debacle is embarrassing - I've noproblem with celebrating a win , but getting ratfaced after ahumiliating defeat doesn't lie well with me.  Stripping him of thevice-captaincy is right too , but I'm worried about how he'll respond.It could gee him up or put him into a gigantic sulk - we'll see nextweekend anyway.
     Without Flintoff the attack looked toothless -would Canada get 200+ against the other fancied sides , I very muchdoubt it. If there isn't a major improvement England could findthemselves chasing 350+ totals against the top sides.
     NZ have more than an outside chance of winningthis tournament. Bond must stay fit for that to happen though - he's avital cog in the NZ fighting machine.
