The most important thing for you to be doing is playing club cricket this summer and just working on your game the whole time, also a lot of ther county sides hold trials for youngsters so it might be worth checking out to see if Surrey are holding them.]]>

I loved playing in the lower grades and bouncing the hell out of kids and old men. Problem was by the time i tried to prove myself against real batsmen, i had lost much of my youthful exuberence and was overtaken by age, injury and more enthusiastic blokes.]]>

When you have it you have it. As Don Bradman himself said, he had no magic wand to make him so good. In fact he stated there were many better than him. he simply wanted it more. Alex, if you want to pursue this then do it. If memory serves, McGrath did not start playing till he was about 17-18 and a bloke called Ambrose simply showed up to have a bowl in his late teens. Do u reckon at the age of just turned 17 am too old still to go pro or at least a higher level if i join a club this year??? please guys i dunno what to do and my friends aint keen on cricket so their advice is useless to be honest! <img src="http://www.cricketworld.com/forum//smileys/smiley1.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" align="absmiddle" alt="Smile" /></DIV>]]>
