    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.cricketworld.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3883">inswinger</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 4671<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 05 August 2008 at 11:31am<br /><br /><P>NZ is right, and also when i was changing my biomechaics, thought one point i was bowling with a bent front knee, although it was more bent than yours i found i had a lot of strain on it and it was always hurting after practises, because it was having to carry so much weight on the knee basicly.</P><DIV>so bracting your leg really really really helps, you feel almost no strain, you also get a LOT more bounce aswell</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>i think the only strain i ever felt with a braced front knee is coming down very hard on a bouncer and feeling a bit of a strain on the right top of my thigh.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>but thats&nbsp;fine now</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>the only thing i might say otherwise is that your arm comes over a bit early for your action and you seem to lose momentum quite alot.</DIV><DIV>it might seem abit typical of me but maybe driving your chest through abit more and slightly delaying your bowling arm, also make sure your front arm comes down with your front leg,&nbsp;i may be wrong but it looks like itst coming down a bit early.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>

Well i shouldn't say that. 'Pace' bowlers have something like 15x there body weight going through there knee's when they perform the bowling action. Wear and tear, and perhaps damage to ligaments if you land incorrectly is part and parcel of it.<br><br>Anyways back to ligament/knee damage, as long as you have a nice long follow through (which you do), things should be all good. <br>]]>

The only&nbsp;thing i would suggest is trying to brace your front knee a bit more when you land, you seem to flex it quite a bit so you lose momentum, though, unlike most people you do&nbsp;keep your non-bowling arm up nice and high so you don't 'do a stuart broad' and completly fall away.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by NZ_Fast - 04 August 2008 at 7:53am</span>]]>
