i heard in a possible 11 for pakistan tomorrow akmal was going to open with salman butt. team was, butt, akmal, younis, yousef, inzamam, razzaq, afridi, akhtar, naved, asif, kaneria.

I think they need Farhat to open up but who can you drop!!

Ofcourse it is going to affect Akmal's health and performance in the long-term. Asking him to open the innings in both forms of the game and keep wicket is asking a bit too much. He should be opening in ODIs but certainly not in Tests. He had to open in Pakistan's second inning of the second test because Malik wasn't there. Hopefully, he won't have to open again. Well he looks comfortable in both the middle order and opening recently. I think he should open he batting though. possibly TANZ. i think there's nothing wrong with his timing etc but it's just his shot selection. he's still young so time's on his side. i say imran farhat to open with salman butt in the next test.

Its not that he gets aggressive when batting lower down the order, Razzaq has to be aggressive when batting at number 6 and 7.
