At one point, when I had just started taking interest in cricket about 8-9 years ago, I used to ask my mom of Indian cricket history and she always talked about Pataudi. That's how I knew how good he was. Then Saif Ali Khan came onto the screen and then they were talking if he could be a cricketer or an actor (his mom was an exceptional actress) and then Shah Rukh Khan said that he had his mom's cricketing talent and his dad's acting talent. I kind of had idea that Patuadi had lost his eyes. Because my dad told me that. Apparantly people used to say that the reason Bradman was so muchbetter than anyone else must have been that he had incredibly goodvision, so he had his eyes tested and his vision was found to besignificantly below average!

Ive never heard fo this Pataudi guy either, but thats an impressive story. Actually i used to play with a guy with only one working eye and he did phenominally well considering - hardly ever dropped a catch

He must have been great AK. But he will most probably make it only to the blind and deaf team and not the International team.

There was a young 16 year old indian boy who lost his leg travelled 30km I think to the Champions Trophy and he to plays cricket and Yuvraj Singh helped him,the story is in cricinfo in the champions trohpy. But still playing with impaired eyes is not very easy. It does take a great deal of courage. That also speak volumes of indian cricket and cricketers , that they dont need more than an eye to play cricket! just kidding, Nawab pataudi has been a big name in indian cricket, and his son Saif is an indian superstar in movies too!
