This way the ball is still released with the seam in a verticle position, which, in theory makes it harder for the batsman to pick up the slower ball than if its released with you just rolling your fingers over the seam.

The key to success though with a slower ball is practise. If you lose a skill it takes practise for it to return, it wont normally just return on its own, out of the blue.

I was spinning last season for my slower ball and managed to take them by surprise by the slowness and even get wickets from the spin! I now lose all my accuracy when i try this method any ideas? could you tell me your method of creating a slower ball?
