Max's concerns about Prior's inconsistency were valid in 2007 , but recent fine performances with both bat and gloves shows just how much he's come on. In 2007 he was way down the list of wicketkeeper/batsman - now I believe he's the finest. It shows just what with hard work one can achieve.

Edited by Sledger - 28 July 2011 at 8:09am

I've seen him once ge doesn't do anything special. Seems like he's pretty overrated

Do not even get me started on this guy. This is the biggest farce within Australian cricket today. I dont know how he even gets picked in a first grade side, let alone a state team, and then the national side. He comes out and slogs when he is supposed to be a genuine number 6 bat, bowls tripe, and has the weakest arm I have ever seen. I would really like to know who his dad is. Does he work for ACB, or maybe Cricket NSW. There is no way Steve Smith is picked on pure ability alone. Guys like Brad Hodge have never been given a chance to perform, and is one of the most talented players currently playing the game, and then Steve Smith is picked to play in every team Australia currently puts on the park, being in the T20, ODI and test side. An absolute joke. When he was picked in the ODI side last year, he was asked on camera what he wanted to bring to the side, his response, was to lighten the mood in the dressing shed. WTF?? There are thousands of comedians un-employed within Australia, who would be much better at doing that, and most could probably play cricket better than Steve Smith also. Australia currently needs to prove its ability again on a world stage, and he is a majorly weak link in the side, and there are so many better selections that could be made. I really hope he does not play many more games, as he definitely does not deserve his position in any Australian team !!
