Your eye-body coordination should be good. You must be able to discern which way the ball will turn, quickly. Then the reverse sweep is damned useful. Thats my view well..]]>

I remember in the nets playing the best reverse sweep ever, then next ball being smacked in the throat and dead for a good while of the day. Can't beat the fun value of playing it, though. ]]>

It carries a high risk of going wrong, unless your KP and you actually change to a left handed grip and thus are technically actually orthodox sweeping. A lot of time it is used though, the batsmen could have used the much safer method of just running the ball down to 3rd man.]]>

And i probably still think that its a safer shot. But sometimes you've got to make the bowler and skipper think and you should have a wide array of shots. Therefore i think i'm going to try this shot for the first time next time i practice. Although I wouldn't play it in a match until i've got it almost perfected in practice.</P>]]>
