Anyhow, we enforced the follow on and they got 222 in the second innings.  I took 5-73 from 13 overs.  So, I got 9 in the match and I was tolded that if I got 10 I would have gotten some money from the cricket association.  I could have gotten six but the keeper missed a stumping and the next ball, the last wicket went run out.

 

Anyhow, we chased down the total for the lost of 5 wickets.  It was a very pleasing game for me as I helped my team to a victory and they have given me the role of scoring as well.

 

 Bowling. I got 5 for 12 from 7 :D. The best figures i've ever had :). And we bowled them out for 93. Our first win of the year which lifts us to 3rd from bottom after playing 3 games.

 

Today, i played an intermediates match which we won by 13 runs. I opened the batting and got 15 runs. Bowling i got 2 for 32 from 8 :)

 

 

 

No real surprises in the squad, as expected. Hoggard is probably the only person worth noteing as being included, but he was probably (imo) always going to at least make the squad anyway. Collingwood faces a fitness test to see if he has recovered sufficiently from his shoulder injury.

 

And Kiran, you need to grate onion in potato salad.  Absolutely terrific!!

 

Anyhow, today was day 1 of my two day game.  My side won the toss and batted first and made 210 odd.  I got 7 not out batting at 8 - I hit one six although it was lucky.  I was going to bang the spinner over long off but closed the face and the man at long on parried it over.  So far, it's the best pitch I've played on for the season.  It had good bounce for batting but it's biting for the spinners.

 

The other team is currently at 43-3.  I got one wicket - C & B - from 2 overs for 5 runs.  Hopefully, we can dismiss them cheaply, bat again then have another go and try to get our first win for the season.

 

as far as the tournament goies, i have no doubt in my mond that rajasthan royals and delhi daredevils will contest the final with rajasthan winning. punjab and chennai are likely to be the semifinalists.

 

as ususal deccan are miserable, they are nothing more tha n paper tigers, i wonder if pakistan should continue to select afridi for their national team.

 

kolkata will struggle, hodge is gone too so now they have only 4 int'ls to play, shoaib may still not get a game and i think salman should get the nod ahead of him as they riquire a batsmen than a bowler. however none of their batsmen except for hussy to an extent are good T20 players. salman needs time to get going and is more like a chanderpaul who will do well in ODI's and tests but not in T20's.

 

Last night, i had a match for the under 17s. We won by about 40 runs. Twenty20. I got 46* and the opener got 51* retired. He opened, got retired 19.5 overs. I went in 8.5 overs after the other opener was out for 11. 

 

Bowling i got 1 for 19 from 4. Good result :)

 

It is never easy for players like Misbah to sit out while the team is loosing. You cant expect from him to play a good Innings in his first match when the team is so much under pressure.

You are right. I think we are overestimating Misbah's hitting abilities by looking at his performances in the T20 world cup final. He didn't look good at all in the 2 matches when he was given oppurtunity.

White looks to be a very good hitter and with Taylor not in the squad, he is a must for Bangalore team though they don't stand any chance of going to Semis. W.r.t 4 international players, I feel yesterday's combination is the best possible one they have. But Chanderpaul could come at no.4 or 5 and they should promote hitters like White, Kohli to no.1-3 positions.
