Which of the GM 707 is it, Luna 707 or Icon 707?

hi guys.. I purchased a GM 707 about a couple of months ago. Knocked the bat myself using a wooden hammer. Have used it in nets and matches as well. But I don't feel the bat has great ping except some in the middle.
Can anybody provide their views on this bat ? Thinking of trying a different bat OR am I too quick in expecting an appreciable ping ? ![]() thanks.

In my experience, good bats don't require bat facing, because when there is a need to remove the sheet, things can go a bit haywire. I use Ihsan Inferno 450 bat and has on no facing. The only thing i've done is knocked it in properly - no oiling or anything. Ihsan bats are strong so oiling, facing etc aren't required for a long while.
My oldest bro once had a Kookabura kahuna, and it was amazing. It was well knocked in and ready to play. It stroked the ball so amazing, especially the drives. Many cricketers used it and it lasted 2 years before it burst. It did serve its time, many runs did come off that bat. Bats like these don't require bat facing as far as i'm concerned.
As long as you knock in your bat very thoroughly, I don't think bat facing can save anything. If a yorker is to burst the bat, the facing can't stop it. With my bat, inside edges don't even dent the edges as i've knocked it in really well, and that has included facing a bowler who was checking them down at fast speeds.

What is peeling off? The extratec? In my experience that is quite normal at the edges, as that is where dust and bits of dirt are likeliest to get between the adhesive and the surfaces.

Hey guys, I recently bought a Kookaburra Kahuna 400 (short handle) and after oiling, I had an extra tec sheet (sleeve) applied. After knocking in I used it in a game and after realised that there was parts of the sleeve peeling off.
The edges of the bat had started peeling off and looked a little damaged so I decided to apply some stick tape to help pin the sheet down. Although that didn't work. There was also some peeling near the bottom corner (toe) of the bat but more importantly there were these cracks on the sleeve on the face of the bad (in the middle).
Can anyone help me to understand why this occured? And what should I do? Thanks a lot :)

Try looking for the lower range Ihsan bats, the Ace brand, they have a lower, solid sweet spot and have strong edges - ofcourse, that's if they're available in your area. You won't get the sweet ping of a first class cricket bat in those ranges though.

In my opinion M & H make very god bats. I had an S6 that I sold to a team mate, and that is a fabulous bat. If you like a low middle the S6 would do the job for you, though it has a very long sweet spot. Alternatively, the Solution has a very low middle for driving on low English wickets.
The Harlequin has a far higher middle, so might not be exactly what you are seeking. I've not had an Amplus, but the middle looks high on those too. |

Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has experience playing with Millichamp and Hall bats. I like playing in the V and in general I like bats with good bottoms. I was wondering if anyone can throw some light on Millichamp and Hall bats. Esp. Harlequin and Amplus. Thanks, Gamarouge

Hello.
I have recently unearthed a bat which bears some player signatures, and wonder if anyone can tell me to whom they belong. Edited by Adham - 27 June 2011 at 9:53am |

Most people I have ever shown it to go "oooh that's way too heavy for me" so I doubt they'd want to nick it!

I could have sworn I posted in here earlier on.
The Hawk is 2'13 so is a hefty chunk of wood, with just the one grip as the handle is a nice size. My Champ has 2 grips as the handle on that is stupidly thin - one of those tricks batmakers use to help make light bats with big profiles I guess. Edited by Clobber - 14 June 2011 at 3:46pm |

Ihasan is damn good. I still use one and it is amazing. I have purchased a CA king 12000 bat, yet to play with it but it looks amazing and I am itching to have a net soon.

Clobbers bat does look an excellent bat indeed, nice straight grains. Anyone on here used a boom boom willow as yet? My 2 brothers have Boom Boom Signature 2 star and they are amazing piece of willows. It just makes you very anxious to know how good the 5 star would be. The ping is so sweet off the bat and one of them has a huge sweet spot, starting low on the bat.
I've had a use of the Ihsan Inferno 950, like what Chris Gayle previously used. Bat feels amazing but I got a 1 ball duck while using it so didn't get to feel the sweet ping off it (A friend lent it to me for that innings). Next year I'm planning on upgrading my Ihsan Inferno 450 to the 950. Ihsan and Boom Boom edges of their bats seems very strong. Edited by spin wizard - 14 June 2011 at 1:48pm |

Pretty good bat that one Clobs - the edges are strong and blade wide - what's the weight? And do you use single grip or double?

Click insert image, if you scroll down on the page it'll say 'Choose File'
Find your picture, and after, click the button just below saying 'Upload' After that scroll down to the bottom of your picture, which will come up on the right hand side of your box, and click 'OK' That should work - let me know if it doesn't or i need to re-explain anything

Hi all..Received my new Laver & Wood Special Reserve yesterday. Haven't tested it yet but the pick up is very light. Can't wait to test it in the nets. I can't upload the picture. Clicked on the Insert Image button. No browse button. So when i copied the pics URL and paste in the column, an error message popped out. Can anyone help me?

Going back to my 2008 bat purchasing saga, when I ended up with this Hawk Xbow -
![]() It's been a terrific bat, now into it's 4th season. It had some signs of wear and tear on the face by the start of this season but nothing too untoward, but then a couple of weeks ago a little chunk of wood came off the face, right in the middle of bat. So, it was promptly despatched back to Hawk for repairs, and has arrived back home to me this morning, all nicely repaired and touched up, including the swanky new embossed stickers (the Xbow part makes me think someone liked the Iron Man logo!) - ![]() ![]() ![]() Not bad eh? I am looking forward to having a hit with it again to see how it feels. That said, while it was away, I used the Champ bat I posted on page 54, and in those two innings I made 31* and 57, so am inclined to keep using it for the time being. If you look through the buttons above where you're typing one should say about an image.
Then select browse, find the image, then click upload. Then scroll down, and on the right hand side, it should say ok! Give me a message if you need further help

it does sound very strange, but doesn't sound like too much to work about. If it is worrying you try not using the case for a while and see if it happens again at any point.

its funny man, on the surface of the bats, you can detect the surface cracks when its been in the case for a while. When its out of the case back for 2 days, you can hardly feel or see the cracks that appears much more visibly when it was in the case. Willows are meant to be springy, right? Guess that explains it.
