I live fairly near where they are based, they seem nice bats, well made and they sort them out if they break.

I've seen players use them previously and I'd never heard of them until a friend of mine bought his.  I take it they are quite a small bat maker as they don't advertise a great deal.

i currently playing with a Bradbury Kudos, and to be honest i don't like it as much as the Sterling. i think it's because the bow is just to big!!! but maybe thats just me!

also with bradbury, you can negotiate the price! i got mine down £30!

well this has been debated alot! such as the new shape that fusions have which means they have very big middles, but is it the size of the willow, or the quality of the wood that makes the ball 'ping'?

boo ha ha!

well crick i know you a big fusion fan, and thats fair enough too as I am sure they are good bats.  But surely to have a piece of a willow as their apart from the parallel weight there must be something else too? such as, drier willow, perhaps?

oops part of that post didn't make any sense! What i was meant to say is, surely to have a big piece of willow like that while being light, apart from the parallel weighting, there must be something else such as drier willow ?

Someone was asking about "Screaming Cat" bats.

Manufactured by Jullian Millichamp, formally of Millichamp & Hall Puma.

He has set up somewhere in country victoria australia, not sure where exactly. The name refers to the sound produced when striking a willow glut with a wooden mallet (the description comes from the guy who trained jullian).

Very high quality bats.

there was at one stage near the start of the season, but if you contact him it may be alot different at the minute! if you live nearby and pick out a bat they have already made, then you wont be waiting for 3 weeks!

I'm looking to buy a new bat but after having had a look at some of the other bat topics going here thought I better be a little specific.

First off the budget is around £100 but anything less of course would be a bonus . I'm looking for a bat with a decent size middle as I tend to be a smack it hard rather than perfect stroke player but without a heavy pick up as I'm on a lil un. As for wood quality the only rule I'd say is english willow rather than kashmir but I guess for a budget of £100 thats pretty obvious.

At the moment I use a old Hunts county rapide which although not perhaps the top of the range bat has for some reason always pinged the ball miles, which is the reason I've used for over 4 years now but its starting to reach the end of its life and as its been a faithful servant I dont want to break it.

The only other query I have is, is it better to wait 2 months or so and buy something after the end of season here in the UK and hopefully pick up something cheaper?

Personally i think that Choice are as good as any bat that you will buy , plus they come with 2 years free service . They are the best bat that i have personally used and will be now available in Australia this upcopming Summer .

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out and decide to buy one of these bats as you live in aus?

No probs . Played in England in 2002 and were put onto these by the guys at the club I played at . Was that impressed by them that we are bringing them to Australia for this Summer . Cannot recommend them highly enough and I have used a heap of bats .

surely no patriotic Aussie is going to want to be seen with a St George's cross all over his bat?
