What do you think the result will be here? The squad to take on England in the Twenty/20 is:
Australia Twenty20 squad Adam Gilchrist (wk), Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Cameron White, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken, Mitchell Johnson, Ben Hilfenhaus. |

No he's not. He's not included for the Twenty/20 match.

Clobber just look at their overall ODI record recently, 2-2 yes but that does not take away the fact that even Eng womens team would beat the Eng boys in ODI cricket currently.

Their overall record against Pakistan in their last 9 games is 4 wins to 5 defeats (a half strength England side against full strength opposition for that matter) so if they are as bad as some of you are so keen to suggest, what does that say about your own heroes?

Pak can beat anyone on their day and iv got full faith in them, they have far more talented batters than eng, and eng ODI record is poor, its as a simple as that.

Aussies to clearlly win and dominate, just like they have all ashes and its never looked like being different!!
If losing the ashes 5-0 wasnt enough humiliation how about the top england bowlers being hit all around thr for sixes.
It will be the same in the triangular series and England will go to the World Cup with there morales as low they can be and the fans only coming to watch Monty's fielding (which has improved).
Twenty/Twenty game;
England 98 all out
Australia 98-0 (win by 10 wickets)
If this isn't correct it wont be that far off and it will be a miracle If England Win!!!!!!!

If England bat first they will post in excess of 150, Australia will fall 30 runs short but bat through their overs. If Australia bat first they will post between 125 - 140, England will win by 4 or 5 wickets with 2 or 3 overs remaining.
|
||
|
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat. |

I actually think England would win but if they play Panesar he might get smacked around, with Flintoff,KP & Collingwood all big hitters of the ball I reckon England will win only if they bat first. Cause last time when they played there first ever ODI against Australia they made 176 batting first and Australia stumbled to all out for 76.

Whoever wins, it would be a treat to watch the 20/20 game. But currently I would rate Aussies higher than Eglish. Twenty/20 is a different discipline than tests and even the ODI format, so you cann't predict an easy victory for the OZs, if it's England's day they can beat Australian, which I really wish to see.

Montys county 20/20 record isn't too bad, a strike rate of 18 and an eco of just over 8 from 23 and a bit overs. |

The silliness has started and after winning the toss Australia are 75-1 off 6.3 overs!
Ponting 20* (8) Gilchrist 33* (24) Great for the kids , but don't let me catch anyone calling it cricket! |

3 sixes in a row for Gilchrist....before Panesar gets him out for 48.
This is great stuff.
I'm starting to like this Twenty/20 more and more.
You are showing your age Sledger....
As you said though, its great for the kids.
I'm taking my son (and a couple of other kids) to the NSW/Tassie match tomorrow nite. They are as excited as hell. But no way could they sit thru a whole 50 over match....or a day of test match cricket.
This Twenty/20 gets kids (and even some adults I know) interested in cricket....and that cant be a bad thing!

I'm 18 and I think its silly, its just a slogfest with limited technique involved. I don't think i'd want to play in a T20 match.
I suppose its good for the game as so many people like to watch it but still not my cup of tea. |
