Slogfest is right Kerm and if I was a bowler I'd make sure I had a muscle strain before start of play!

Yeah...the Aussies are heading for a huge total (excess of 200).
I gave England some chance of winning this....but now I got grave doubts.
With big hitters like Gillie, Hayden, Symonds and White I think the Aussies will be a hard team to beat even in this format of the game.

What a score from the Australians. Look out for Cam White people. This is why Australia are sure to be a force with the bat at the very least despite all the retirements.

I count maybe 3 or 4 people in the England team who can hit real 6's and maybe another 2-3 that can manage them with technique so I really doubt we have much chance of winning this, less overs less ability as far as English cricket goes. Needing a run rate of just over 11 is quite some ask even in slogcricket. Vaughan about to get his first ball of international cricket in some time...And he gets a run from it Seems like a great fightback from England so far...

Ed joice had little joy, in his first outing, I think england should use this match a net practice, as simple intent of trying to win it will result in more humiliation. Vaughan should bat out 20 overs in order to see whats cricket like in australia.

Yep..I think he will have a long, successful future in ODI's and Twenty/20 cricket. Not sure about test cricket though.

Vaughan and Pieterson always do well for me as a partnership in Cricket 2007... Fingers crossed.
Looks like Vaughan has been reincarnated as a one day player =P nice 15 off the last over if I counted right. Get that run rate down a little.

Flintoff looks to be in some hurry too! well what else he could do already needing two runs per ball, its hardy easy staying on the pitch.
Anderson gone for 64 runs in 4 overs, thats 16 runs per over, I think he could not get a hiding, vaughan should have asked lewos or derylrample for the last over as he had already conceded around 15 per over previously. England has a phenomenal run rate of 4.33 per over far better than their average in the test series, early signs of improvement!

His test career should be equally successful once he is given a chance. I think this guy is future Australian captain material.

KP gone , a run out this time, out comes Ian bell and I believe they two can abt out the remaining overs decently and prepare for one dayers rather than finishing the match early! offcourse by getting out.

If we reach 15 overs I will be shocked.
Vaughan out, but i'm happy with his performance, the only player to get in and he hit a good 27 in his first match back.
91 runs off 6 balls...easy =P

I'm not sure if White will get into the Test team on his spin bowling alone. But he might end up challenging Watson and Symonds for the all-rounder spot. As for his captaincy skills....yeah, he must have some ability in that department since he got the Victorian captaincy at a young age.
This match is all over....England at 4/58...the Aussie domination continues.

True he will have to keep scoring a heap of runs and force his way in as a low-mid order batsmen although his bowling is always improving and it is handy for him to be able to bowl. He's doing all he can do with the bat at the moment that's for sure hopefully he gets a go before too long.

Paul Nixon was impressive but played some silly shots at times and was lucky enough not to pay the price.

Fantastic performance by the visitors , batting the whole 20 overs , watch us go in the real pyjama game!!
143no is right too , does every other shot have to
be a reverse sweep? When they hit it they get a single -
brilliant!

I'd have thought that for 11 talented players, even playing agressivly for 20 overs, its still too short a time to be bowled out, well England gave it a good go!
The big difference between the sides seems to be the fact that Australia can and do hit 6's while we got the 1 and that was in the last over.

Yes Kerm , someone in that grossly inflated backup team should tell the
players that the Aussie grounds are just slightly bigger than Taunton !!

For Fletch that's proof that it works though. Did the Aussies sweep? No. So why should we? Sweeping may work in England (it can at times) but hit straight for goodness sake, especially against the spinners. Hilfenhaus looked quite good.

Yes Hilfy (sound like a serious illness huh , "he's down
with the dreaded Hilfy!") swung the ball nicely , but they were
bowling at night.

Ben Hiffenhaus looks like a great addition to the aussie team I hope we get to see more of him in the tri-series.

What happened to Huss (Hussey) I thought he's nickname was Mr.Cricket? Those nicknames on the back of the shirts makes it look like a joke how is 20/20 suppose to be taken seriously when players shirts have nicknames on their backs?

What a hammering, the ashes is one tour the Eng boys would want to forget. I still cant believe Bell and Colly are playing in the format. He scored 22 of 22 balls, a run a ball will not win you 2o/20 matches, look at the auss strike rates?!! The burden of captaincy has taken its all on freddy mentally, he is not the player he was before he took over. I feel the ODI series will be another awful ride for Eng and their fans.
