A walk in the park for the Aussies lads , they might not win every test but they won't lose a single one.

I'm looking forward to this test series as these two teams are my favourite to watch! I expect Aussies to win, no doubt but still expect something good from the Windies. First test is at Sabina Park and the Carib Beer Cup finals played there a few weeks ago saw a bouncy but slowish pitch which had help for the spinners! I expect the test wicket to be bouncy and more pacier which should make for an exciting test.

He seems a pretty decent player. Are any Phil Jacques failured likley to result in a Shaun Marsh test debut? Or there are others in the pipeline as well?

Big blows for the Windies. Chattergoon will miss the first test due to recovery to a shoulder injury. Skipper Gayle is out with a groin injury and ofcourse, Marlon Samuels won't play due to his recent two year ban from cricket. Ramnaresh Sarwan has been named skipper of the side. Parchment and Smith is likely to open the batting with Ryan Hinds or Runako Morton playing for Samuels or both might play if they opt for just the 3 fast bowlers and no specialist spinner. Daren Sammy can get a go as well for either of the two incase they want to strengthen the bowling as Gayle won't be available to put in his more than useful part timers.
Aussie are currently into their only warm up fixture before the first test. Jamaica won the toss, batted and scored 297 all out. Wk Baugh got 111 and MacGill got 4-79. Aussies currently on 89-0 with Jacques on 41 and Katich on 35.
A gap is left in the middle order due to Clarke's absence and that would be filled between Katich and Hodge.

The position of captain is a problem that just won't go away for the
West Indians. Ramnaresh Sarwan is a decent bat , but an
indifferent leader.Chris Gayle seemed to lead a happy bunch here in SA
and his understated leadership seemed to go down well with his
teammates.
I don't think Sarwan commands the same respect and I think that'll impact on the team's performances.

Yes, Shiv demanded to be removed from the position. He won't be considered again!

So, Aussies on 301-4 on the end of day 1. Didn't get to see the second session but caught the rest. It wasn't that bad a bowling display from the West Indians and a very good bouncer by Bravo to get ponting. The Windies did serve up a lot of rubbish at one point then contained back. That was their bowling story for the day. Ponting capitalized on that and it must be a terrific feeling for him to get back in touch.
I was pleased with Jaggernauth performance although he seemed to lost confidence in his last few overs but he bowled with good flight. I think he'll be a handful on a wearing pitch.
Lastly, I am disappointed with the pitch. For a Sabina Park pitch to play like that just shows the standards of pitches back here is really gone. It use to be a bouncy track with some good pace. Already some low bounce in this one and it seems like it's gonna spin a lot too!

I saw th complete 3 sessions though it was lte at night. But apart from Bravo nobody bowled well. They were bowling just a little too much on the pads which helpe Ponting gain confidence. Now he is going to be a headache for them all series.

What a sensational knock by Chanderpaul! After dropping like a sack of taters, coming back to score his hundred was just immense.
And full credit to Edwards and Powell to crush through the Aussies top order, this is shaping up to be a real contest!

With Hayden back the Aussies will be a different outfit, Sam.
Hats off to Symonds also, with two 50's he's kept Australia's noses in front for the final day. Clarke looks a real threat with the ball, but is he a destroyer? Lee hasn't got it right yet and MacGill has been relatively ineffective - what can Johnson produce when his team needs it? As usual Chanderpaul will be the key figure tomorrow, if the Aussies get him I'm backing them, if the don't who knows what could happen?
Test cricket is thrilling! Enough of this IPL rubbish!

Now the WI?? come on this is just one test match and it's not even finished yet.......You know how the WI are.....one good day, everyone thinks things are looking good for them and they get everyone's hopes up but they manage to make a mess the next day.....so my advice is just don't hold your breath on the west indies doing something amazing today...it just may not come.
