after winning 5 in 5 against ZIM, Pak now aim to clean sweep BAN, this series should provide more oppourtunities for the PCB to try out youngsters and build a team for the upcoming Asia cup and Champions Trophy.

for bangladesh it'll be another oppourtunity to impress and even a win will be welcomed.

here is the tour intenary (from cricket world)

All five matches will be day/night affairs.

Bangladesh Tour Itinerary

April 8: 1st ODI, Lahore
April 11, 2nd ODI, Faisalabad
April 13, 3rd ODI, Lahore
April 16, 4th ODI, Multan
April 19, 5th ODI, Karachi
April 20th, Twenty20 International, Karachi

It is a needless series and just a filler. Fans here in Pakistan are not really looking for this one. This series cant bring any glory. Though it does have the potential to bring agony to pakistan cricket as nothing less than 5-0 will be required. Eevry game will be played under the presssure of not  losing, rather than the intent of winning

My only interest in this series will be the size of the crowds.  Normally one dayers in Pakistan are sellouts , here I think they'll be plenty of empty seats.

Other than Faisalabad and Multan...there will be lot of empty seats. I myself do not plan to go and watch. This will be my first since 1993.

the turnouts were pretty much ok when ZIM toured, surely BAN are better than them.

every win will give PAK a chance to break the world record zuhair, i know it'll be nothing more than just a record (if it happens) but atleast there is something to play for and i certainly won't mind it.

That's why I'll be watching to see the crowds Sam - Pakistani fans have to decide , will we watch an easy match or wait until serious opposition comes to town ?   Real cricket lovers could well turn up because their next visitors won't be along for quite some time.

cricket boards of india, srilanka and bangladesh have certainly confirmed their participation for the Asia Cup starting june 24th, so the maximum the'll have to wait will be another 3 months if they want to see some serious cricket.

PCB should really be thankful to the asian cricket boards as it has got full support from them in these difficult times, i was very happy to see the BCCI extending full support to the PCB, just an indication that the relationship between the two nations is no longer as bitter as it used to be.

it also gives the PCB a chance to prove that the country is still safe, atleast for cricket.

True that , I don't think the PCB and the BCCI have ever been so friendly.

Crowds were not good againstZimbabwe at bigger more regular venues like karachi, lahore and pindi. Hyderabad had a match after some 12 years, thats why people came. We will see more crowds in Asia cup but that  too only in the matches featuring india and pakistan. Champions trophy turn up would be wvwn worse I am afraid, as the tournament is being held in the holy month of muslims when they fast and that too in the last 10 days where most prefer to stay back and pray. Poor timing that.

As for BD series.Pakistan must play thier full strength side as the players have to be prepared for whatever assignments are coming thier way in the near future, be it one dayers only

i agree with you on that zuhair, if any trying and testing was to be done, it is done in the series against ZIM and the pentangular cup, so it's high time PAK decide on a final 15 and another 5 reserve.

by the way whats the news on asif and gul? the last i heard of gul was that he is doing well and is expected to return soon, while asif is likely to pull out of even the IPL, because he has still not recovered, any good news from his side?

Hey guys ! After a long time, i will be able to enjoy a match where both the teams are my favorites ! But in this occasion I will be cheering more for Bangladesh, simply because I am from Bangladesh. Pakistan is my second favorite team after Bangladesh !I am sure this series isn't gono be a cake walk for Pakistan ! Bangladesh is alot more competitive then Zimbabwe. So I am guessing the series will be more closely contested ! Which is good for cricket by the way ! Anyway, Bangladesh just whitewashed Ireland ( the team that brought nightmares to all the Pakistani fans ). On the other hand, Pakistan just whitewashed Zimbabwe. both the teams in good form, i guess ! Looking forward to this series !

I see Pakistan are already moaning about the match referee and umpire appointments for this series

i know that sledge, but it seems he wants to go back to the ICL since none of the IPL teams have picked him. i really don't know how far is this true.

I believe no IPL teams picked him up becuase the ICL had a court case going against him saying if he doesnt play in the ICl he cant play in the IPl.

What about the Bangladeshi squad? Any sign of Arafat Sunny?

bangladesh crushed big time, PAK win by 152 runs D/L, fine century by yousuf, and good batting by malik too, all the bowlers did a fine job too.

personally i was disapointed at salman's dismissal, he looked well set, was on 33, did all the hard work and then threw it away, he'll have to convert these 30's and 40's into big ones to cement his spot in the side.

as 4 bangladesh, i thought they bowled well initially and then lost it big time, even one win in this series should be a big plus for them.

Another mismatch , I let the wife watch Eastenders, it was so boring!   A farcical match had two farcical powercuts to reduce the target from 322 in 50 to 282 in 39.  Bangladesh were skittled for 129 and some of that batting was embarrassing.
Can't gauge how good the Pakistan performance actually was - they didn't play anyone.

i guess that yousuf news was false he won't be joining ICL, but believe me i did read it on an indian news channel "m.yousuf all set to join ICL".

just thinking about bangladesh i guess we'll have to be patient and give them time to improve, if top class team like IND can get bowled out in 20 overs in a test match and then go on to lose the match by an innings and 90 runs i guess one can expect a young and inexperienced side like like bangladesh to have such results, what is important is that they learn from every game.
