Sam, your criticism of England is invalid. They don't play Zimbabwe because they're not 'European', but because they don't like Mugabe - they haven't played in Zimbabwe for a decade. They basically threw away a spot in the super sixes in the 2003 World Cup because they refused to play a group match in Zimbabwe and subsequently forfeited.

That's right and there's also the ongoing problem with seurity in Zimbabwe. Whilst other nationalities would probably tour without any trouble , that's almost certainly wouldn't be the case if England rocked up.

Tamim Iqbal calls the Zimbabwe bowlers 'ordinary', yet the so-called 'ordinary' Vitori takes a 5-for on debut! Must be one of the best ever performances on debut by a Zimbabwe bowler in an ODI. BD have just been terrible and I tell you what, Zimbabwe's good form can only mean more opportunities to be invited to play better sides and be fully rehabilitated into the test community.
In addition, Sibanda and Masakadza have been unsung heroes, both have batted superbly and have made Zimbabwe's batting look very solid alongside Taibu and Taylor. They look a formidable aside when playing against lesser teams. Certainly they are a cut above BD and deserve test status in comparison. |

Zimbabwe have certainly outplayed Bangladesh again today, this has been a great turnaround for Zimbabwe and a not so good one for Bangladesh.
Delighted to see Sibanda and Mazakadza do well and Mutizwa is a good player. ZIM are definitely a much improved and matue side now than what they were 3-4 years ago. |

Sibanda threw away a well deserved ton - what a shame. BD have neither the batsmen nor the fast bowlers to trouble any team to be quite honest. They just don't improve. The way Australia thrashed them in their last series was pretty embarrassing too.

what a waste of a game by bangladesh, they lost 5 wickets in about 3 overs to throw a game that was well and truly in their pocket, 22 runs off 18 balls with 5 wickets in hand should have been very easy indeed. Very very fine century by Mushfiqur Rahim goes in vain.
Nonetheless, A series win for Zimbabwe, no it's actually not after years because they have won series against Ireland and Kenya more recently but against a test playing nation this was their first after a long long time. Well done Zimbabwe, their bowling has looked really good this series, Pakistan are up next and I must say any mistake by the Pakistani's and they could well find themselves in trouble against this side. |

Mushfiqur makes his maiden ton, in vain... first BD player to make a ton this tour. Really is too little too late for BD, they don't deserve to win because quite simply they can't sustain any intensity for a whole match. Poor cricket from BD, they are just going backwards now in their development.

Take nothing away from this Zimbabwe side - they look determined, well settled, hungry and well lead. Their rise can only be good for cricket.

Taylor makes a ton here in difficult circumstances! He was due after a lean start to the series and you he's actually made runs when it's needed, where as in the other matches Sibanda, Masakadza and Taibu did the job. Looks a fine cricketer Taylor, but always suspect of getting out early with his lack of footwork... and his record reflects this.

Bangladesh finally win! Their win ratio appears to be directly propotional to the performance of Tamim Iqbal and Shakib al Hasan. Much better performance by Bangladesh in the last two games but it has come a little too late because the series is already gone.

we've posted some AUS v SLN stuff in this thread by mistake! may be if any moderator can move it to the right thread!
Anyways coming to this series a superb all round performance by Shakib and Mahmudullah have sealed the 2nd win for bangladesh. it's 3-2 then to ZIM, and a couple of consolation wins for BAN would mean they still stay well ahead of ZIM in the ICC ODI rankings. The best thing is that both these teams have got some good cricket coming up... ZIM have got Pakistan up next followed by NZL at home and then NZL away, while BAN will take on the WI next month followed by a series against PAK. |
