For a defensive, I try and play bat and pad, so I am playing it under my eyes. Therefore keeping it down. But, often I end up playing a defensive out in front of my pad and it goes slightly airborne.
When playing the drive it is best to play bat and pad, (under the eyes) but I normally play it out in front. Edited by benkola13 - 07 January 2008 at 7:09pm |

I'm a very off side player, I play bat before pad. I can usually pick up the length of the ball very early, which means I can move forward to block the ball. I've also found that going bat and pad together results in more lbw and around the bat catches.

I usually play bad and pad together but this season i will try and play spinners with my bat in front of my pad to avoid lbw shouts. Its not easy to change once to get used to one way.
