Batting has really come on thanks to you guys so thanks, there is even a chance of me opening for school.
Is it ok to walk down to seam bowlers? I get hit alot mainly on the thigh but when it is on the off side I usaully get good contact. Seeing as I am quite a weak batsman I think I it surprises the bowler and messes up their length. The main reason I charge seamers is because I can only play with a straight bat (I can't cut or pull) so it helps me score runs. So is it ok?
I also need help with legside shots like the leg glane, pull on drive thanks.

Are yo talkin gabout glancing of the back foot or the front? Anyway get our head inside the line of the ball and make sure you cant be out LBW, after hitting the ball flick the bat up to help add some power, Aim to hit behing square. Edited by revolutions - 14 April 2007 at 9:07pm |

I've always been good at playing the leg glance so i'm not too sure if you can lose your form playing it. Make sure that the ball is drifting or pitched at leg stump so you don't try to drag it across your body. Also make sure your hands are loose enough so that your wrists can turn the bat and the ball deflects off.

It's a shot I can only play when I am in really good touch, so not being able to play it at the start of a season is not something I would fret over.
Best tips I could offer for playing off your legs are to make sure you watch the ball all the way onto the bat, and don't try to hit it, just get the bat in the right place and let it deflect the ball - ball speed and timing will take care of the rest. |

the same thing happend to me at the beggining of the year, but ive bounced back and the play the shot well now, the key is watching the ball on to your bat, and rolling your wrists at the moment of impact. also, make sure your front leg doesnt get in the way, or make sure it allows you to play the shot correctly. lastly, if you are leaning toward the offside, this could affect the shot. play with a free mind. if you still cant get it, then all you must do is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!
