I don't reckon you'll get 2.5 million for him next season, people hate buying old players and most people know that stamina drops happen around 32-33. Although that depends on how the markets going when you try to sell obviously. Now is a good time to buy because apparently prices are falling.

I'm pretty sure I should be able to manage a top four finish in OD (div5) again which will be a good result as it's an even league except for the two bots.

FC will be an easy promotion as all the other teams are either new or bots.

Have basically thrown all of my BT20 as I was put in a really tough league and had no chance of going well. This form of the game holds no interest for me whatsoever so I see no point in trying.

It looks like I'm going to finish second in V.237 for the third consecutive season, should be able to promote next season though (depending on who comes down obviously). I should get promotion in FC, there's 3 of us who could get promoted, but I have the easier run of games and with my OD position cemented I can go all out to win my FC games. I'm camping in my bt20 league, I could've got promoted but I would've got thrashed in IV, so I decided to stay where I am and threw a couple of games.

1. Ryan Appleby (1896778) shortcut

Ryan is a RH Batsman and RM Bowler. He is a destructive player with feeble leadership skills and feeble experience.

He currently has superb batting form, respectable bowling form and sublime fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: England
Age: 20 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 35,078
Wages: £9,679 p/w
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: superb
Batting: quality Concentration: quality
Bowling: woeful Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: worthless

Got this young fella on the market if any of you are interested. He's got a £2M bid at present which was his asking price. Still a bit over two days left before his deadline (05/06/2009 13:20).

Looking to cash in on him and strengthen my overall squad. Need to bring in some new good players so I can at least be competitive in my FC league now we've been promoted. He's clearly my best batsman, but if I can get a few good new blokes in the overall standard of my batting should improve. Have been relying far too much on him.

Ended up getting £5.5M for Appleby and bought 5 players with the proceeds. I know they all have deficiencies of some sort (some just form), but here they are:

1. Baldev Ali (306229) shortcut

Baldev is a RH Batsman and RM Bowler. He is a steady player with mediocre leadership skills and remarkable experience.

He currently has competent batting form, superb bowling form and sublime fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: India
Age: 29 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 14,784
Wages: £2,342 p/w
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: feeble
Batting: woeful Concentration: competent
Bowling: strong Consistency: proficient
Fielding: woeful

6. Joe Firth (917515) shortcut

Joe is a RH Batsman and RF Bowler. He is a steady player with competent leadership skills and quality experience.

He currently has abysmal batting form, strong bowling form and energetic fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: England
Age: 27 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 16,258
Wages: £6,114 p/w
Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: respectable
Batting: quality Concentration: proficient
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: feeble

7. Kieran Mcmahon (1570296) shortcut

Kieran is a RH Batsman and RFM Bowler. He is a cautious player with worthless leadership skills and proficient experience.

He currently has superb batting form, feeble bowling form and sublime fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: Australia
Age: 22 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 12,692
Wages: £2,277 p/w
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: strong Concentration: proficient
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

12. Douglas Newman (1163818) shortcut

Douglas is a RH Batsman and RFM Bowler. He is a destructive player with feeble leadership skills and strong experience.

He currently has superb batting form, woeful bowling form and energetic fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: New Zealand
Age: 26 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 21,220
Wages: £6,661 p/w
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: feeble Concentration: feeble
Bowling: quality Consistency: superb
Fielding: abysmal

8. Greg Edgerley-harris (1268119) shortcut

Greg is a RH Batsman and RH Spin Bowler. He is a defensive player with worthless leadership skills and proficient experience.

He currently has worthless batting form, proficient bowling form and sublime fitness.

Plays For: NineTenXI
Nationality: England
Age: 23 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 8,412
Wages: £1,391 p/w
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: proficient Concentration: proficient
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

I now have both Firth and Newman on stamina nets, so hopefully it won't be too long before they're able to fulfil their potential. Am contemplating putting Firth on a batting net every second week to get his concentration up a touch before the end of the season, but that's not locked in yet.

Regardless I reckon it's £5.5M well spent when you consider that I got five players who will significantly add to the depth of my squad. Now if only I can get all of my players into good form...

Braddles, all the buys look good apart from Frith. With the new increased PFL hits he'll really struggle for this season and the beginning of next until you get his stamina up to around competant, especially as he'll be on a fitness net which will drain his PFL further. By the time he reaches decent stamina he'll be nearly 29 and stamina drops will kick in shortly afterwards. Looks like a short term solution to your keeping problems to me, I would probably train his stamina then sell him, you may make a profit as people don't always check age when they bid.

Apart from that it looks like you got some good buys which I'm sure wil strengthen your squad immensely and help you win more games.

On Friday I forgot to set orders agaisn't a BOT, so I had my full team out on a GFI, I made 417/0 (Marrison 223*, a club record) which is my highest first wicket partnership and highest total ever.

Cheers Slogger, I'm pretty happy with all of them. Firth's definitely a short term fix, but I'm okay with that. He's popped to woeful stamina since I last posted, so should have med stam by season's end. Will probably get it up to around respectable by mid next season then I'll give that net to my trainee (who desperately needs it Embarrassed).

This is the new kid:

Popped to prof batting this week which was really pleasing, so he's popped in batting, concentration, consistency and fielding since I got him. Not training his stamina yet as others who are in my first XI have what nets I can spare, but he's getting 2x bat, 1x field and 1x keeper.

Will give him a stam net either when Firth reaches respectable or possibly when my new bowler Newman gets there which would be a fair bit earlier. His stamina's obviously an issue, but in five seasons time I don't think I'll be all that worried as he'll be an absolute monster.

Wow, thats some seriously good bowling. I had quite a strange game in FC this week as well. Bowled my oppo out for 214 in the first innings, then set them 417 to win in 81 overs in the second and watched them get to 390-1.
