But I think Kumar Sangakkara is really Great with the situvations he batting with.Coz he hasn't had any great partners like Sachin or Martin. Most times he hold the innings together. COZ OF THESE HE IS THE BEST IN HIS TIME |

hard to compare.... both have excellent records as it has been shown... however they are both completely different players.... Dravid is aptly name "The Rock" for his ability to stay at the crease and hold the indian innings together.. Where as ponting, has the ability to take an attack apart... he can change how he plays to fit the situation... whether he comes in at 1-12 or 1-112 he can turn the game on it's head and take apart the opposing bowling attack. as i said.... both are fantastic... but Ponting's ability to take apart any attack around the world, no matter what the situation makes him a gamebreaker... and for mine, he is the best no.3 in the world since 1 DG Bradman |

So where should dravid play if not at number three? I would say that dravid is a very good number three batsman and ponting would be equal with him. I cannot say that one is better than the other.

Yeh dead right. I am also sick of some of these people who hate Aust so much for beating their team taht they always vote against them..pathetic really, a veiled dig at Aussies. People who said Dravid are kidding themselves, he is an excellent batsmen but not the best 1 down obviously.

Ponting hands down no arguments..plus Dravid is always changing around in the order. Ponting also scores quicker.

i know a strike rate of 70 may be good over the past couple of years, but scores are getting bigger and bigger, and i think pretty soon, about 85 will be the equivalent, the question is whether or not dravid could up his tempo as the game scores increase, becuase i know ponting could quite easily!

My favorite line-up. My dream line-up at the moment. If Ganguly was in good form I'd put him in place of Raina. If he was in good form. |

Dravid's strike rate in ODI is 70, so he scores much slower than Ponting.

In the match between England and India, right now he is on 37 of 102
. If Ricky Ponting faced 102 ball in a test match, he would be on 60-70.

well if u look at pontings and dravids strike rates they are almost identical, so how can u say dravid scores too slowly, he does tend to say at the crease longer than ponting but they play at about e same pace according to stats |
