If its right now I would also say Jaffer, and Then Dhoni, even if he is not in form right now. They passed 500 because of him. He hit 69 in 52 balls will 6 sixes and 4 fours. Those runs were needed.

Brian Lara is the best current player, highest test score ever, 32 centuries, he's just incredible.

Yeah but at the moment he's injured. Besides lets not start a Lara V Tendulkar argument.

It will be best in the world since, it will be hard to break that record. He's out form right now at internatinal level. He's doing really good in county cricket, he might be in form to hit few more centuries.

You have psted after 2 months. This thread should have been closed a long time back especially after the Dravid, Inzi poll fixing(like match fixing). Some jobless people voted for Inzamam 100 times and then the next day someone else voted for Dravid 100 times.

These topics are senseless by the way  .

No one says he is not a fine batsman, but to suggest he is a class of his own is beyond the pale

You can say that again spin wizard. I was going to say that, but then I realised that it was on the players on the poll. It was Dravid, Sehwag(shouldn,'t have been there), Ponting, Kallis, Inzama anmd 2 more unimportant players. Anyway this thread shouldn't have even been brought back.

Currenty, It'll be Sachin Tendulkar.

The best Batsmens of all time would have to be Sir Donald Bradman.

That's sAchin Tendulkar for you Colly.
and I totaly agree with you, except that Lara is about as good as Sachin, although he is retired and if it's the best current batsman then definatly Sachin.

EDIT:and also Bradman

He really was a thorn in the Aussie side for years.

Lara and Tendulkar both have a different style of play, So it's hard to pick out who's better.

The media seems to say Tendulkar's better, From my understanding. Not because of his stats, But how well he times the ball and attacks it.

I'm only talking from the 2001 Guiness world record book, They say that Tendulkar is better at timing and attacking so well.

I think the media is wrong.
They both make it into my alltime greats list.
And Lara timed it very well in his day!

I think Lara is more destructive so saying Tendulkar is better at attacking, I don't think so.  Both have dominated attacks but Lara has done that from start to end of career, whether in form or not!  To me, this is where Tendulkar goes ahead of Lara a bit, when he's out of form, he'll be more careful and not try and dominate too much.  Both all time greats in my eyes, definitely the 2 best bats I've seen.  Tendulkar is very clever in his batting as well, like premeditated shots etc which Lara hardly did which showed how good he (Lara) was at dominating.
