with out any doubt its inzy...he has saved pakistan's blushes single handedly time after time..there isn't a better player under pressure than inzy..maybe lara is closest him in that regard!

AK , I've just read your signature and it's rather silly - since when have football matches been overseen by an umpire??

I meant referee,my mistake I get them two mixed up with other sports and it was also Lucas Neil rather then Jason Culina.

AK it has got nothing to do with being pakistani, Dravid has a team of wonderfully talented players, the pakistan team over the years has been far too inconsistent when it comes to batting, inzamam has always been the man who has saved the games and won games under great pressure, out of his 25 test tons 17 have won pak the game and have been in a winning cause, therefore on this i feel he is the best and thats my opinion, it doesnt matter if you or any other person disagrees with it, the whole point of a forum is to speak you mind and not just follow what others think. i would respect those views which do not correspond with mine!

well in my previous post in this thread i said that inzy and dravid r the best in this business. dravid proved tha yesterday.

also inzy329 i couldn't agree that pakistani r inconsistent in batting. one or the other performs. agree that inzy comes many times in pressure situations but dravid also has to face this. indians r also like the pakistanis as only 2-3 batsman perform in most of d matches. its not that indians r consistent and pakistanis r not. i feel that both of them have got similar teams and bot bat in d same way(not technique but they play real test cricket)

sorry guys i don't have pc in my hostel so i can't use the net very often.

Ponting is a great big game player under pressure.  150 in World Cup final, 120 in VB Series final when Aust were 3/10, 150 to save Ashes test match.  Dravid not far behind though.

Good example AK. It seems that Dravid will be as one of the greatest captain ever. India won series after 35 that happened becase of Dravid. He score half-century in both innings. Where none of the batter helped him.

Well this was a superb innings, but so far as the best ever captain is concerned, if you mean best ever in the world (not only Indian), I can not second the opinion as it seems a bit biased.

Just look at your post AK, isn't it also a little bit biased. I am not supporting Inzi because he is a Pakistani player, but it's the fact that Inzi has proved his mattle so many times by batting under pressure, throughout his career, starting from World Cup 1992. And he is second to none when it comes to the best batsmen under pressure.

How am I biaas?I said it was Dravid & Ponting because its true but its also true that Inzy has batted under enormous amount of pressure at times but Pakistan have a reliable middle order in Khan,Yousuf,Inzy,Akmal,Malik and for that matter I think the pressure is sometimes off him to score. My mistake before for calling him biaas because its his opinion and i have no right to judge.Sorry

I think you have forgot the best. Aravinda de Silva. With a team with very limited batting he won and saved matches under more pressure than Dravid or Inzi

Here are some stats for you
                                          Diff&n bsp;  Diff
Palyer       Car Win Los Finals W / L Car/Fin
Inzamam     39.6 48.0 29.9 32.9   18.1 -6.7
Dravid      40.0 52.0 30.6 37.7   21.4 -2.3
Tendulkar   44.2 56.7 31.7 46.5   25.0 +2.3
De Silva    34.9 47.9 26.3 37.9   21.6 +3.0
Ranatunga   35.8 54.4 26.7 35.2   27.7 -0.6

Tendulkar and Aravinda are real big time achievers when the pressure is at maximum. Aravinda, Tendulkar and Dravid perform dismally in lost matches.Inzamam perform better even in lost matches. Dravid and Inzamam underperform in all types of finals

That's why I am telling that Aravinda was one of the best when pressure was on

well said, but some times he put more pressure on the team losing his wicket by playin rash strokes under pressure.

So ill go for inzi and dravid.both of them has shown patience and played with there technique in such pressured situations.i'll say inzi more than dravid bcz Inzi is saving Pak from such situations since all great and senior players left like Wasim,Moin,Ijaz and Imran.however Yousef has shown responsibilty but still Inzi is more concerned. where as in INdian team many players are there to handle such circumstances like Tendulkar,Sehwag,Yuvraj etc.

I'll also go for Inzaman and Dravid. They both bat very well under pressure. They take the responsibilty upon their shoulders and bat according to the situation and do exceedingly well under pressure.

Yousuf, Akmal are just as good as Seahwag and Yuvraj. So you can't say anything.

Well for me Dravid and Inzi. I have never seen Ponting play much under pressure. To be precise I have very rarely seen Ponting play, so I can't rate him. Jayawardene is good to but not in the class of Dravid, Inzi, and sounds like Ponting too. Tendulkar used to be amazing during his days. Used to carry his bat through the innings. But Dravid and Inzi can literally pull it off too.

Afridi can't be called a good batsman in pressure situations. He gets out quickly. The player on the other side will not be as confident a he would normally be if Dravid or Inzi were there. Plus he hasn't played under such situations that often.

You are putting your subjective views in front. All graet bowlers and batsman have good stats. Very rarely you get a good batsman with not so good stats or not so good batsman with good stats.

If you see the stats it will prove all the above players + Bevan are in the same class and infact some of them have performed better than Inzi or Dravid

And these two rarely taken there respective teams to wins against SL. Both of them get bamboozeled by Murali sooner or later, if we rewind back to matches last 10 years.
