Jeez, The big debate over Akmal and Dhoni is always full of complete bias and awful opinion. Neither of them are the best. I admit, at the moment, Akmal has been on a terrible run, I have never much rated his Keeping but his batting always looked decent enough, but form has taken that away from him so at the moment, in my opinion he has nothing going for him.

Dhoni is a poor keeper. On his day, fantastic batsman, too reclace for me though.

Sangakarra is the best in the world at the moment, Gillys not as good as he was a couple of years ago, but thats age for you. McCullum is slowly getting more and more classy as well.

Hi,
I think this time Adam Gilchrist will prove his efficiency in this world cup.He may bag the man of the series title in this match.
Yes I agree Gilchrist is a perfect wicket-keeper as well as a good batsman. And also his strike rate in batting is nearly hundred.

I will have Sangakarra, Gilly or Boucher...I do not care which as they all play different roles.
Judge the player not by their stats, but by their opposition.

Sanga has probably overtaken gilly in tests now, but they play a different role for their respective teams. Gilly still in the 1 dayers for me.

My favouratie wud be Mark Boucher, Then Mahendra Dhoni and then Adam Gilcrist. But AB will over take them once he succeeds Boucher.

Gichist is the best ever. On current form it is Sangakkara. If he finishes he career averaging 50+, i would call him to be the greatest, because he is a better keeper than Gilchrist.

And remember Andy Flower also. class act. These three are a tier above the keeper-batsman of past like Knott, Dujon, Marsh or Healy who were supreme with keeping skills but were average with batting. And also ones like Alec Stwert and Hashan Tillekaratne who were very good with bat, but average with keeping

for me it would be Brendon McCullum, and Adam Gilchrist. Gilly is probably one of the best hitters in world cricket when hes on song. and you guys really need to learn how to spell, its very frustrating reading sentences that are full of errors.

We post opinions, dont you know the saying "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". If I think all South Africans are great, it is only my opinion and not a fact, and it doesnt mean prove to the contrary cant be substatiated. And any way, I rank my keepers on the following

1. Boucher- Doesnt have a lot of freedom to play his game, in most cases he has to play out of charecter to win us matches.
2. Gilcrist-  Well, he wud be arguably the best ever, but I cant imagine him playing without all those great Aussies guy backuing him up, if he fails it is never the end of Aussies, but with us if Boucher fails to finish or consolidate the inning, then we are most about done..
3. Sangakara- I dont know, but I just am not fascinated by him, but over all he wud be my third best, I still think there is still some room for improvement before getting there, he has pontential most definitly.

I'd have to say Gilchrist because of his all round ability.

His glove work is better than some people give him credit for. And the styles of bowling he's had to keep for is more vast than Sangakarra or Boucher (Who pretty much only has to deal with seam).

His ability with the bat is rarely questioned, whereas Sangakarra's has on a few occasions.

Sangakarra is a good wicketkeeper but Gilchrist is better.
