Best brand for batting pads?

So true heinz - if pads were all the same, they would all be the same price!!  However, features are important not brands.  It is fair to say that a small number of companies (in particular SG) make most of the recognized UK brands. 

However, the SG, SS, BDM or CA equivalents can now be purchased in the UK at (prehaps) half the price of the same specification in a UK name.  You can get these at on-line shops like getpaddedup.co.uk, thesporthq.com etc.

AERO pads suck!

The look terrible and are hard as a rock - buyer beware!

I recommend the latest BDM Titanium pads, they are ultra light-weight and are very price friendly.

I use them in first grade and they are fantastic.

How light do you want?  Ignoring the expensive UK brands, SG do a Prolite model, each pad weighs in at under 600g - good style too unlike the Aero (what is that!!!).  Try a Froogle product search (via http://froogle.google.co.uk).

Absolutely - they are top quality pads hey.

I've been through HEAPS of pads before, and these BDM Titanium's are definately the best i have tried.

Only problem is that they can get dirty very easily as the facing on the pad has a material cover instead of pvc facing or something else that wipes clean.

Im looking at getting some sort of stain remover product and using this on the pads like twice a year or something.

Where did you get the pads for $45USD?? Thats a crazy good deal. My pads cost abut $120AUD which is still great for top of the line pads.

I haven't seen their gloves, i might have to check them out.

How many test players are there wearing Aero pads? Whats that? Zero? - I THINK THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT!

Good idea, but ugly as hell.

I mean why spend all the R&D money and then make an ugly pad?

I personally found them restrictive with alot of shots and the fact that they are a few grams lighter than some other pads really doesn't put forward a strong case for them.

Thats a ridiculous comment. Bowlers bat at the bottom of the order mostly - therfor face an older ball - softer ball.

Im just saying if these pads were any good theyd be worn by someone half decent.

Personally im not willing to sacrifice comfort for a few milliseconds of pace between the wickets.

I think they are much to thin.

I think as a batsman, i wouldn't be comfortable adjusting my defence to make up for the gap between bat and pad.

Stick tothe hockey fields i say.

Could you make it any more obvious that you work at Aero?

Its pretty sad if the only people standing up for your product are the employees there.

Plus its pretty easy to pose for a photo with a straight bat defence.

Im talking about re-adjusting to a narrower pad and having to bring the bat closer to your pad.

Whats it like to work at Aero?
