Wow. I have no idea what to choose but I eventually decided that Jim Lakers performance is unlikely ever to be matched so I voted for that. Please vote and post a message on this because I really want to know what you all think is the most amazing.

Warne's Gatting Ball revolutionised spin bowling.. I am somewhat bias, but it was a pivotal moment in cricket - He is in the top 5 players of the century (Wisden).
I remember when Ali Brown got that big double ton in an ODD, excellent - the Aust vs RSA game was not new as a very similar thing happened in the game when Brown got the double ton (although Brown's side scraped through).
Lara , 1st to 400 in a test is also pretty big.
But Laker and Warne are the two for mine.

That did not really change the game. A good achievement though!

What about Sachin's 40 ODI Century's?
"His classical hits down the ground, met with a checked drive, were Tendulkar at his best. It was though he had a new lease of life." - Sachin Tendulkar's return to cricket with a 91-Ball century.

There are too many achievments in cricket to put them all on there.

I went with Ali Brown's 268*, a simply brilliant knock.

RHB, we're not talking about careers, we're talking about single performances or matches. If we were talking about careers Bradman would win hands down.

I went for Massies because of the quality of the opposition, it was when England were pretty good.

Instead of Hirwanis who I've actually never heard of. (I was talking about why I put Massie in the poll, I didn't vote for him.)

Jim laker taking 19 wickets is just fantastic and will never be repeated. I thought about picking the gatting ball but Laker tops it for me.

I know it's great, but all the other stuff in the poll are way better than his 40th ODI Century.

Jim Laker for me anyday. Not because it was the best bowling figures by any bowler, but also because it will take to longest to break. The way cricket is going now, I don't think it will ever be broken. During his days, the bowlers got the wickets themselves. Nowadays, it's slowly turning into a batsman's game and a bowler gets them out when they loft deliberately and lose their wicket. If a bowler gets all 20 wickets in this way, then there is no fun and entertainment in it. It's like Australia scoring 600 in an ODI against USA or something.

The wasy cricket is going, it will mate. Jim Laker is the only guy whose record is going to last longest and has a chance of never being broken.

But it can be easily broken sooner or later. Will not last as long as Jim Laker's or the World Record Match nor is it as great as any of them. You have failed to mention more important records up there.

It's not even close - Laker's feat was extraordinary and highly unlikely to be equalled, nevermind surpassed.

The fact that Jim Laker took 19 for 80 odd runs against the might of the Aussies is just simply amazing!!

I don't know if you know Sledger but was the wicket a batsman's paradise or a bowler's delight?

it certainly suited england. it was a spinners haven hat cracked up after a day. on the 1st day it was a good pitch.

i voted for laker cuz there will never be a better acheivement in sport! also those who voted for warne, its only 1 ball albeit 1 of the greatest ever bowled

If i had 3 wishes i would do 3 thing... exile mahmood and harmison, make geraint jones the best keeper in the universe and me the best leg spinner. what a lethal combination!

Old trafford by nature always suits the spinners but that one was a wet one. I saw the 19 wickets and laker really got the ball to spin. Wonderful loop of the ball as well and bowling the batters between their gate from around the wicket with big turn which any off spinner would love to get. It was truly amazing!

Dont forget Lock at the other end who didn't take a single wicket, so it can't have been that good for spin bowlers, just fantastic bowling.

Lock lost his cool and tried to bowl quick, instead of with flight. And some body dropped a catch off Lock to give Laker all 10

Why isn't Bangladesh vs Australia in that list? beating Australia by 5 wickets was a great achievement in my opinion
