He certainly did but look at the opposition!

It nearly took him 40 days to make it but anyways, as a tail ender or lower order batter, thats as good an achievement as lara's 400.

I've chosen the Australia V South Africa world record match earlier this year, it's amazing that South Africa managed to chase down the world record and beat it, probably the greatest ODI ever.

what about malinga's 4 in 4...Big%20smile

i'll go for South Africa chasing Australia’s 434 in 50 overs & Sangakkara and Jawawardena’s 624 run partnership...coz i dont think that these records can be broken..

and i think some of records are missing,
Shewag 319 of 304 balls
Malingas 4 in 4
Laras 400

malingas 4 in 4 has been done hundreds of times.

And to young shiv, i think you're in the wrong thread. youve just mentioned surprising events in cricket. they arent amazing achievements by any means.
Cricketowlrd forum used to be good but now it's just a boring ghost town. I reckon there's an average of about 4 posts per day. It's really gone down the pan. Why don't you advertise JP?

Maybe because this thread this thread was made before either of those events occurred

He did it for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994. 400* is the highest score in Test cricket.

I politely ask you to get your facts right. It has happened less than 10 times in FCC. It never happened in International cricket.

Jim Laker has taken 19 wickets. But there are instances where players have taken 18 wickets in FCC. I can vagely remeber 19 wicket haul also some where, but I have to check it before confirmation.

Narendra Hirwani's 16 wicket debut was better than Massie's because he did it against West Indies in their pomp.

No-one else has taken 19 at first-class level, but you're right, a couple have taken 18:

Yes I have seen that analysis JP. Possibly these were in matches which were not termed FCC. I think it was in India, where someone took 19-84 in a match. Possibly our Indian friends dig it a little and say whether it is a FC match.

If it was a first-class match, it would be in that list!! No amount of digging will change that.

Cool
