It helped that Watson was in your side and McMillian was playing like a man possessed at that point in his career. |

Yes we bowled pathetically in that series. how do you have a team 4 for 40 odd and lose defending 350 ![]() |

Jamie How's 140 odd against England was one of the best I've ever seen. Perfectly paced innings and have NZ any chance of getting a result (tie) out of the game.

Not good considering the fact that Australia lost the match even after he had made 181.

Tendulkar's 98 against Pakistan in 2003 WC. It's a great knock by Little Master. One of the best entertainers

It's a shame then, that the runs count just as much as anywhere else in the world - Pakistan too have flat decks, does that mean a good innings there is discounted?

Pontings 140 in the 03 WC final against India was splendid! I've seen some terrific ones from Gayle but they never get mentioned because he mostly ends up losing! Sarwan too.

In my view, Richards innings of 189 and Kapil's 175. There were some unbelievable innings by Bevan too.

Was a good one but the size of the NZL grounds always make things discounted

Jamie Hows 139 from 116 chasing 341 against england would be up there in my books. didn't slog it just played nice cricket shots. Would of been the perfect innings if he didn't get run out on the 2nd to last ball and if they hadnt tied the game

The Sri-Lankans were the underdogs in that match obviously, the ground was not very big, and a few more things! But I still think it was really good(if not the best).Murali and Vaas were playing in that match so its a great achievement to score that much even in those two gbowler's presence.

I just had a look at it 2 days ago and it was brilliant the way he smashed the balls of a length back into the stands. The wicket was quick on coming which suited the Aussies style more than the Lankans.

I wont say the "best" innings i have seen in ODI's but two of my "favourites" would have to Steve Waugh's 120* against SA in the 1999 WC for shear guts and determination and Australia never looked winning.
And Pontings 140 against India in 03 WC Final. That stands out for me as one of the most destructive innings that i have ever seen and to do it in the final, just made it that more special. Watching the Indian team being demoralised and not knowing how or where to bowl was something i will never forget.
I should also mention that Hayden and Gilchrist placed Aus in a very comfortable position but Ponting and Martyn just lifted the run rate through the roof (or onto the roof!

Poor me went to training that day not knowing we had the time off to watch the WC final and I went to play a club match and got benched!! I reached home in time though to see a farce on TV.

Yea those knocks in Sharjah were awesome. Kaif's knock of 80-odd in the Natwest Trophy final at Lord's was great too. Gilchrist's knock in the WC final was another gem (although I didn't see it).

Anyone of Sachin's back to back 100s against Australia in Sharjah in 98 or 99 I think. Those two tons were the best ever I have ever seen.

Dhoni's 183
for sure it was great, i think he came in to bat at number 3 didn't he i think number 3 was the best for him better than number 6 or 7 becuase he don't usually get enough chance to bat as he would like to , when he comes in to bat its near the end off the innings where they are looking for good runs which is good for dhoni but he dont really get a chance to get a big score Edited by Clobber - 24 June 2007 at 5:34pm |

Herschell Gibbs's 171 of 111 balls V Australia to help SA chase an almost impossible feat when playing Australia of 434, freakish!!!

When was it that Laxman made that 170 odd against Australia. India made about 250.

Salim Malik has never scored 95 against India. I looked it up. I don't know what you're talking about.
