Jason Gillespie has just scored the highest score by a nightwatchman. He scored 201 not out in 425 balls. His innings included 26 4's and 2 6's. Not bad going for someone that has an average of 18. The previous record was 105.

hes previous average was 15 after that unbeaten 201 hes now averaging a touch under 19

Mark Waugh only got around 160, and Symonds would have had a punch in the face. --- Apprantly when Gillespie got his 1st century Hayden made a bet that if he got 200 Hayden would do a nude run. We haven't seen anything lately not that we want to!!! |

I think Gillespie should be included in the first XI for the first ashes test, along with McGrath (permitting he is in the right condition), Lee and Warne. I think this will be McGrath, Gilchrists, Haydens and Langers last series, so I think it will be excellent as they will want to finish well.
