Yeah, I'm not going to change the format, I don't know who decided that it needed changing, but i think it's just fine the way it is.

We've still got a few people in the cup so for the moment we won't be starting, but I'll start to work out leagues and fixtures now.

Atm the Challenge Cup (I haven't had a look at the teams in the Main Cup) looks fairly uneven- Very good teams and new incompetent teams. It will make the Challenge Cup very predictable and subsequently very boring and lesser interest. This is something slogger72n/o wouldn't want.

I suggest you try and find a way to make the competition more even. And also the teams which are strong should be looking to go into the main cup rather than sitting down in the Challenge Cup for a relatively easy tournament.

I'll re-post this when a win the cup Wink

The cup is staying as it is cricketchampion, you cannot come in for the first time and demand changes- if you don't like the format play in some other cup.
Good one Graham!

Do you really like to win with newbies? You'll find some good easy-to-thrash
newbies on the "Newest Arrivals" page found in your Country details.

Just trying to make it fair for all. And it would be easier for Slogger if there were 8 teams in each cup rather than having 6 in one and 8 in another.

Not trying to get in any sort of fight with you bondie, but its annoying that your general approach seems to be like new members on CW= dumb idiots"experienced" members with high post count= Great people(with a few exceptions). You may deny this but it seems true.Broken%20Heart

I suggest you look at the teams in the main cup. They'd annihilate any of us.

Slogger is running the BT cup this year. He has decided on the format. All I'm doing is supporting his decision by telling you do play or leave it.

Let your imagine run wild, I don't judge people on the amount of posts they have, but on the content of their character.
Good one Graham!

Well some teams being better than others is just the way battrick works, I'm sure if I put some of the better challenge cup teams up they would complain. The main cup is just the same, rifat will probably win because he has the best team and has been playing for longer than everyone else.

Exactly right. The only even contest in BT is if the two teams competing have been playing for a similar length of time. This is due to the incremental changes that occur through the buying and training of players each week. You can't suddenly become a strong team unless you were given millions of BT dollars, which ain't gona happen!

. Not being impatient. Just asking when will the fixtures etc. be announced. Till other teams get knocked out from the BT cup can you explain the CW Cup format to we new guys who are joining this for the first time?

Check the past seasons in the cricket fun & games section. It will follow the same format.

yeah it will work just like it did last time around and I will post fixtures when I know everyone is out of the cup. I will also draw the groups now.

Main Cup

Group 1
WHCC
Real Madrid
Freuchie

Group 2
CK £LY
kerms crusaders
Exquisite XI

Challenge Cup

Group 1
Bondie
Westridge United
MP12 XI
Spaniels XI

Group 2
Luteru taylor
Red Devils
Jammoes Lot

Group 3
Dans Lions
Beacon
Getslogged CC

The way it works is that in the main cup each team plays every other team in the group home and away, the 2 top teams go through.

Then: winner group 1 plays runner up group 2
runner up group 1 plays winner group 2
Home and away, most wins goes through, NNR will be used if teams finish level on run rate. The winners will play another best of 2 final.

The challenge cup works slightly differently, the top 2 teams from group 1 go through and the top teams only from group 2 and 3.

Then: Winner group 1 plays winner group 3
runner up group 1 plays winner group 2
Home and away ties decided by NNR. Then a home and away final.

Any queries or problems please post and I'll do my best to answer them.

A few questions. Sorry if you've posted it or if it is obvious but I would like to clear out a few things:

In Challenge Cup will each team play the other three teams twice(home and away)? That would mean 6 Group fixtures for each team in Group 1 of C Cup.
Then the other 2 groups in C-Cup will play other 2 teams in their group twice so that will mean 4 fixtures for them. That leaves them with 2 weeks off. So they will be allowed to play a friendly of their choice if they like?

During the Semi-Fianls stage in both Cups, which team gets a home fixture and which gets an away fixture?

Also since I joined in the end, my teams spoils the C-Cup structure. If you like you can chuck me off. I'll have no hard feelings. Anyways I was looking not to play friendlies in some weekends when I GFI in the OD matches because I am pushing hard for promotion. Its your choice. I don't want to betray you guys by pulling off at the last moment without taking your permission. I leave it up to you. You may keep me or you may chuck me off.

1. yeah, the groups aren't balanced so some teams will get a week off

Each team plays 1 home and 1 away for the semi finals and final, so there's no advantage.

You can stay on if you want, you being in the cup won't change a lot, last season in the main cup we had the same thing and it's no problem, you can always pull out if you want to though.

oh and thanks paulnixon1, I'll change that.
