I was just continuing my England game, when I was looking at what other World Cup games were going on, when I came to the Pakistan V Zimbabwe scorecard, and I found Streak, Taibu and Vermuelen in the side. Talk about not being up to date!

ICC 2006 and Zimbabwe have never been good bedfellows - they've always failed to keep up to date with it.
Par sort of score for them, though. |

got a nice new guy on ashes edition and he averages 70 in his first 25 test matches with 11 centuries. His names Joseph Fanning so he should improve meaning he could become, if possible, even better than the first guy.

Email Empire. If you have proof of purchase, presumably by email if you bought it online, then details should be found in that email.

The best captains are thos who lead fresh, raw or under resourced teams and produce results... to me the following have been better than Ponting or Loyd..
1. Stephan Fleming
2. Mahela Jayawardena
3. Inzamam ul Haq (before the english tour last summer).

I once had a 264 run last wicket partnership for England, but then that was because I experimented by reversing the batting order.

I was already 3-0 up in the Ashes so I couldn't be caught so I completely turned around the batting line-up, it was something like: 1) Panesar
2) Harmison
3) Hoggard
4) Mahmood
5) G. Jones
6) Flintoff
7) Collingwood
8) Pietersen
9) Bell
10) Strauss
11) Trescothick
It worked fairly well actually, Monty scored 30-odd and Harmison scored 20-odd. Just shows what tail-enders can do opening the innings.

I wonder if they will try you plan out in real test cricket someday. I noticed today when I was loading the game again on the computer, there was this writing that says downloading 3rd umpire. This appeared when all the features are being downloaded onto the computer and the downloading bar is going across.
Has anyone ever seen the umpire call for the third umpire in the game? |

It seems that every tom di£k & harry who has ever donned a pair of gloves is deemed to be a wicketkeeper with regard to his role in the team, i.e Strauss, Ponting & bizarrely, Lara??
Also, ive noticed i think that it doesnt make a blind bit of difference who is behind the stumps, whether down as a `keeper or not. There does not appear to be any increase in byes or leg byes, which would probably be the case in real life. Might as well have seven specialist batsmen....
I think therefore they should attack the fielding issue in general in future issues, especially with one day cricket nowadays having good fielding as a must.
Give good fielders and keepers a proper `value`, and the `occasional WKs`, i.e. Trescothick, a lesser one.
Constructive criticism, love the game.. Edited by desreg25 - 06 April 2007 at 3:46pm |

Just wondering what tactics everyone uses, i never played the other games so i'm still finding my feet. I tend to use 4 bars when bowling at a new batsman, until he has faced about 30 balls then drop it down to 3 bars, then if they get past 50 runs i tend to drop it down to 2 bars to try to make them attack and get themselves out. I've not really had much luck with bowling on the off stump to people who prefer the leg side has anyone else?
with batting i usually stay on one bar till the meter is at 3 or 4 bars then on 2 bars till the meter is two from top and then i always leave it on 3 bars, but i sometimes struggle to make 400 runs in 130 overs that way so perhaps i'm not aggressive enough
And finally does anyone know if the grounds themselves make a dirrerence? ie. notts and lancashire good batting pitches and somerset good bowling. I'm playing as Somerset because of my previously mentioned problem with Nottinghams budget and my batting is not as good, but that could be beacause Nottingham has some good batting (especially David Hussey who was averaging 1600-1700 a season) and Somerset are not so good (despite buying Michael Hussey, although it's early days yet)
Any amazing tactics anyone cares to share?
