this is ICC3, NZ but Newman is phenomanal, i think the lowest score he's had in 10 innings had been 39 hes brilliant, apart from he gets out loads when he gets into the 90's I think thats happened about 5 times, hes had 2 in the 70's and 2 100's

I am playing as Lanschashire(I think thats right,Its the one which starts of with Murali!) and I had two keepers,Cross and Crook(I have a lot of Crooks in my squad! )and they both went and got injured so I had to give someone with no keeping ability the job of keeping until they got back.
My best fast bowlers,Hogg and Flintoff, only got 8 wickets in the next 2 45/45's and a first class match!

And another time I lost 4 people to England and my 2 overseas players also went home to play for Aus and SL respectivly.(I am going to drop Hodge next season as this season he has been worse than normal.(He averages 11 in 45/45's 25 in first class and just 2 in T20!(So far this season that is.)))

Well,Hodge didn't like my last post!
The next three innings he played he hit centuries.
I have Afridi with him now as I am starting next year,I also picked up A.Flower in the bidding.
I am in 2nd devision in county and 45/45!
I am looking good to go up to 1st devision in county next year because of heroics by Flower,Flintoff,Hodge,Afridi and a youngster called Bent.(He's a leggy.)

Haha, as England as anyone hit double centuries with anyone wthin the first 3 seasons, I have with Bell, pietersen(just 205), and Freddie (just again 201!) It cane as quite a shock, did anyone else do the same?

This should be renamed the ICC thread.
I started a game on the trial version of 2008 and was impressed by the graphics and interface!
Biggest problem was that it mostly had the same commentary and I ended up turning off the sound.
Another problem that I found was that quite a few times Sameraweera would bowl more overs than Murali!
I was doing India by the way.
And I beat Australia in a test series at home!(Z.Khan ripped through Hayden,Jaques,Ponting and M.Hussey in the space of 15 overs in one match!)
Two other bugs were Jayasuria and Hayden were batting at 5th spot in ODI's and that Dravid kept on hitting more 6's than Sehwag!
At least they hit more sixes now!
You know, I'm trying to decide whether to change my siggy or not...

I just had the weirdest thing happen.

I had layed all 2 days of the free trial and started up 2008 to see how much to register it,and clicked on the free trial just for fun.
Then some how 2008 had some error and suddenly I had no limit to how long I can play on the free trial!

I love programming errors here and there!

bladescape mate, do you think this game is worth getting?

I enjoy playing Football Manager the soccer sim, so I'd be interested in giving this fella a crack.

Do you have to be those pommie county teams for a full season, or can you select Test sides and just play Test cricket ?

ICC 2008 is a very good game.
And no you don't have to be the counties for anytime.
It is your choice if you want to be a county or just go straight to international stuff.
One improvement that the ICC producers could include is that they could make you able to do domestic from every country instead of just England counties.

You can get a free trial for two days if you want,Bruce.
http://www.cricketweb.net/cricketgames/commercial/internationalcricketcaptain2008/index.php

When you go to this page, look for the download 2 day free trial link and it should start downloading.
After you have finished your 2 day trial, you can decide if you want to buy the game yourself.

Oh and on another note,How in the world are you supposed to win the challenge trophy in the county game?

I have played for 11 seasons and the best I've done with Lancs is the 1/4 finals!

I only thought of that after it had run out,and when you try to reset it to a day before it was last used then it bugs up!

In 2016 I have won the 20/20 cup,am top of the 45/45 trophy and I'm going to get promoted to the 1st devision in the county champs.

If anyone still plays ICC 2005,would they like a network match?

Currently on '06 my top bowling line up is the exact bowling line up england use. 2 of the bowlers aren't even that great, but are holding their own on the international stage.
On the other hand, i have 2 batsmen who should be first on the team sheet but are yet to make their debuts....i might have to take over england to get them in.

3 of my bowlers are constantly used by England.
My players who also play for England are:
Peiterson:Guess Why!
Anderson:Again!
Mattocks:Regen who bowls off spin.
Darkes:A great batter.(Averaging 70+ in FC,averaging 14 in Tests! (At least he averages 40+ in ODI's! ))
Livingstone:Another regen,but he bowls pace.
Leaburn:A regen that bats solidly and can bat at 1-6!

6 of my best being constantly chosen for England!

I lose 4-5 bowlers every time england play, luckily though ive picked up a certain 31 year old stuart broad who is going nicely and bolsters my attack.  They also pick some of my crappy batsmen from time to time, not my opener who averages 57 in FC and about 52 in OD.

Yes the first season it happened at some stages i literary had 2 bowlers and a batting allrounder. Though i had bopara so he was at least semi comptetent, and i have a batsmen who is a useful leggy so i didn't do to badly.
