With finger spinners, but only certain ones you can bowl the stock ball, arm ball, doosra, teesra, flighted ball.

Wrist Spinners: Leg break, googly, topspinner, zooter, flipper, flighter ball.

Medium/Medium Fast/Fast - Standard, Out/IN swingers, Leg/Off cutters, slower ball, bouncer, yorker, revese swing.

The Brian Lara series are much better than the EA series. It's a pity I can never get the BLC ones working properly, but from the limited knowledge I have of both, BLC rules.

I had a bash at EA Cricket 2002 last night, scored 850 odd with Zimbabwe (A Flower 316*) in reply to Australias 600+. They replied with 660 and I'll chase down 409 to win when I play next.

That's on 'easy' level but it still took some skill.

i dont know why i play these kids games, but the game is good becasue it ranks players on skill, for instances bowlers will be rated out of 100 on accuracy, spin, discpline, stamina, googly, etc.

They'll be wrong as they don't have the official license from the ICC so they aren't allowed to have the real names in.

I've just changed this thread a little so we can keep discussion to all computer games in here, as we had done so anyway....

....anyway, I've just taken delivery of ICC 2001 Ashes edition, as I saw it on amazon for 1p plus postage which I shall install shortly and let you people know what I think of it.

I've got ICC 2005 and it is alright - a few annoying flaws that have been present since the first ever version but overall enjoyable enough. It's also been nice getting the likes of Ponting and Tendulkar as overseas pros for Leicestershire too!

I played demos of both Cricket 2005 and Lara 2005 and thought both were dreadful.

My first impressions of ICC 2001 are very good. I'd played the demo before but the whole game doesn't disappoint. Mind, for £2, I can't complain!

I've become ridiculously addicted to this game, even though as Clobber says, there are a few flaws but those aside, it is very good. I don't have the time to play out every game, so I prefer to play as a 'selector' and let the boys do the work on the pitch so I tend to whip through the seasons.

Started a game with Somerset (with a data update) but managed to get relegated from both divisions mainly thanks to Trescothick being unavailable and Jayasuriya being rubbish. As I get the hang of the game, we're improving steadily, although with no money to buy overseas (or domestic) stars I'm relying on the youth to pull me through.

Also started a game with the West Indies, had some disastrous results to start with but they're beginning to pick up now, highlights have included a 2-1 ODI series win over Australia and a 2-1 Test win over India.
