Seems reasonable mini , but obviously flawed. Last week Ponting scored a ton at less than a run a ball and in the same game Oram scored the fastest one day ton in NZ history in 70-odd deliveries. Nz lost and Ponting was MOTM...............call me daft if you like , but I know which was the better performance. |

My point exactly, surely the fact New Zealand lost shows just how tough it was for Oram to get that brilliant knock, against a more difficult attack than Ponting it has to be said as well. Had New Zealand won the match undoubtedly Oram would have walked off with the MOTM award. |

County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

Right, so is everyone putting their weight behind Oram for this week's award?
Any other contenders for us to think about? |

I would nominate Joyce's hundred, England desperately needed someone to play the innings that would give them a boost against Australia and his was all the more admirable for him being a relatively junior member of the side.

Joyce's knock was vital for England and himself , but he carried a lot
of luck. I'd have thought Tait will be on his Christmas list after that
appalling drop when he was still in single figures!

Surely Collingwood is going to get a look in this week, considering the situation and opposition that he scored his runs at it was quite an achievement. Not to mention bowling a full 10 overs and getting two vital wickets as well.

Certainly a leading contender but the SA - Pakistan games could throw up a candidate I suppose

Collingwood 2 match winning centuries in a week 14 overs, 2wickets, 1 catch, 2 run outs. Without a doubt it's got to be Collingwood.

I would go for Afridi .77 of 35 plus 2 wickets at a good rate .

To be fair I haven't really been following SA-Pak aside from noticing SA romped the first game, what's been happening?

Pakistan romped the second game on the back of a sublime Yousuf century and a typically mad Afridi innings

You'd be up in arms if we didn't pick a man who'd made consecutive scores of 65, 87*, 85, 35, 77, and 32*. And they won the tournament!
Kerm; Canada and Bangladesh were in action, for whom Saqibul Hasan was considered for his man of the match performance. |
