I'd say player of the week is how much entertainment a player gives crowds. And lara caused major entertainment

At least Lara's retirement put the focus of said news coverage on his career, and his cricket.

Flintoff's was putting the focus on something else entirely.

Can't believe I'm mentioning Lara and Flintoff in the same post.

Indeed - go wash your mouth out!!
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

106, 202*, 4-52 in one match. All-round performance won Younus Khan the award this week.

Just out of interest isn't it Younis rather then Younus?

Younus is the way he prefers his name to be written.

Oh right, so his proper name is Younus. Why don't we spell it the right way? That's like having Inzamem Al-Hak, it's all a bit weird. Sounds like he doesn't like being called 'Younis' anyway.

I think Trescothick should win the award this week, for 284 and his highest first-class score, he deserves the award.
On extended leave...

Trescothick didn't get 4-52 though, did he?

He's been mentioned in despatches. Dhoni is also a contender so far.

Good choice.  Dhoni always been thought of as a dasher but he showed with this knock that he has the composure to hang in there for the team.  And to do so in those conditions with the injury....hats off to him.
