It is with much sadness and regret that I have to report the most shocking happening last Saturday, my second duck in my adult playing career and my first for 15 odd years.  I managed to chop on the third ball I received from about 4' outside off.  Needless to say I have booked myself in for a sound thrashing from Mistress Punisher, a well known local service provider.
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

I too recorded a duck this weekend, but alas it was rather more than my second in 15 years.

I bowled nicely though and had figures of 11.3-2-33-4

So many, that's less than 2 a match.

I get 0.8 catches a match and I have not dropped a single one this season. Seriously, where do you field? 1st slip I'm guessing?

1st slip, in old fogies cricket - you must be joking.  I field wherever I fancy.  Our captain (my son) usually gets us in the middle then says 'spread' ...... as long as when we stretch our arms out, our hands can't touch - he's happy.

It works for us (as long as the bloke with the pads and the gloves ends up behind the stumps), as does the 'who fancies it next?' approach to rotating the bowling.

I take only one catch for the entire tournament, a catch at cover.

I field anyplace on the field where their is grass so i can get my slids in.

One question bro,  did Glenn Mcgrath retired from International cricket to become your bowling coach.

Don't make Ricky Ponting find out though.

Nope, it's; overs, maidens, runs, wickets.
In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

My updated (total) figures:

Matches: 5
Innings: 3
Runs: 12
NO: 0
HS: 9

Catches: 1
Run outs: 0 (a near miss!)

Bowling the same (haven't bowled since)
